1 Engine Knocking Noise problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2010

Friday August 6th I ran a few errands after work, then on the way back my car started making a banging noise. I traveled a little further then the noise became louder and louder, so I pulled over. I called my boyfriend who came in about 15 minutes and he checked under the hood. We found out that we could not get a reading on the oil stick when checking it. We took the car over to be checked by a mechanic. I seems like the oil was sludge/thick; now this is considering I got a complete oil change June 27, 2010. . . This incident happened August 6th. Now my mechanic says that I need a new engine. I have been diligent with the maintenance on my car. I get regular oil changes and other things that's needed for my car. I have not had any real problems up until now. I have recently bought new tires, I have also had to have the alternator and battery replaced, but nothing like this. Since this has happened I have read 100's of complaints concerning Dodges 2. 7 engines. They are notorious for doing just what my engine has done. With no warning the engine is gone. Dodge refuses to recall these engines that could very well cause major, major damage to lives. What a tragedy!.
