Seat Belt problem #3

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v047000 (seat belts, air bags). The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to holt Dodge and Jeep dealer to get the recall repaired. Upon taking apart the vehicle, the contact noticed that the parts were not the correct ones. The vehicle was reassembled and the parts were ordered. The next day, while traveling at highway speeds, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle, which resulted in a front end collision. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Seat Belt problem #4

I was driving about 45 mph last night and had to stop abruptly to avoid a deer. I weigh about 220 lbs and the seat belt buckle broke. This allowed the belt to unfasten. Luckily I didn't hit anything and didn't really need the belt because of the slow speed and the fact that no other vehicles were involved. If this would have happened in a more severe crash, I could have suffered significant injuries or death. I wonder how many other people have experienced this. I have the old part in my possession if you want to inspect.

Seat Belt problem #5

The 2nd row (center row) driver's side seat belt will no longer latch. Nothing is stuck in it--you can push the seat belt into the latch, but it pulls right out. Although a major safety concern (as well as wearing a seat belt being law here), Dodge claims it is not under warranty and will only fix if I pay for it.

Seat Belt problem #6

Plastic-metal seat belt buckle its broken, and isn't close when its necessary, always appears like its closed but its not. When I came to Dodge agency for service, I ask them for replace but they have not the price and service, I' m worry because use mi car without closed buckle in driver's seat belt. Someone told me Journey was build in USA.

Seat Belt problem #7

Electrical systems don't work all the time such as radio. Burning smell. Seat belt stopped working last year had to replace entire unit. Pto went out 8 months after 6 months purchase.

Seat Belt problem #8

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. While driving approximately 25 mph the contact crashed into the rear end of another vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the technicians stated the seat belts were designed to lock only when the air bag sensors detected an impact in a certain location of the vehicle or at a certain speed. The contact was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The contact did not mention if a police report was filed. The contact was not properly restrained by the seat belt and suffered injuries to his chest and a broken sternum. The body damage to the vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.
