My wife drive this vehicle mostly to work and I am afraid for her to drive anymore I had to replace the brake calibres they lock up and then I end up replacing the roeder and the brake pads they are also the power steering pump I had to replace and the hoses for it has busted a few times. I have luckily been the one driving when it has done any of those things. I'm afraid of my wife to drive it anymore. It is her car. I own a Dodge dakota and love it,but the Journey is a terrible made vehicle. I'm not expecting anything from this just want Dodge to know, but I'm sure they already do.
Power steering pump making whining noise. Service shop replaced cracked hose, adv may have been due to extreme cold weather, occured in Jan 2014(mn) -25 -30 below temps at that time. Second occurance was in March, different hose, again may/may not have been result of cold, adv would need to replace the entire fluid routing system. 1 large part with hose/piping. Was able to carefully cut the split part and re-attatch the hose. Car has ran fine, no issues, until noe Dec 2014 cold weather appears to affect pump/hoses.
I was driving and the low tire pressure indicator came on. I pulled over to a parking lot and proceeded to add air to the tire using an air pump. After filling the tire with air and attempting to dislodge the air pump hose. The end of the tire stem broke off inside of the tire pressure gauge causing the tire to deflate completely. I noticed that the tire stem looked corroded, and I immediately googled the problem with this tire stem and learned that there are numerous complaints where the tire stems on the vehicle corrode (which mine did exactly) and then break off while most are driving. In addition to this problem the vehicle antifreeze reservoir's crack causing the antifreeze to leak out on a constant basis. This too is a item which should have been recalled long ago.
