1 Tire problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2012

All 4 tires replaced 11/15/2012. Ordered brand new kumho tires, had them mounted, balanced and secured with rh warranty. Immediately noticed they were more noisy than the tires that were on Journey before replacement 11/15/2012. Slight shimmy and humming noise. November 2012 - took vehicle back to service center that mounted tires. Explained issue(s), owner told service center possible bad tire(s), requested tire inspection. No results found. Service center asked owner to drive on tires for 2/3 days to see if shimmy is coming from front or rear end. Owner completed requested action by service center, reported shimmy coming from rear end and requested additional inspection of tires. Service center "says" they inspected again and found nothing. December -2012 owner returned to service center for third time to request rotate & balanced. Service center once again "says" they rotated, balanced and checked tires and found nothing wrong. Shimmy and humming noise now completely located in front of vehicle. 04/21/2013 front right brake caliper and pad needs replaced. Caliper dragging and smoking. When front right tire was removed to replace caliper tire was wobbly and would not stand on its own or roll on floor "normally". No other tires were inspected 4/21/2013. Owner plans to return to service center where tires were purchased/mounted to request another inspection and replacement.

3 Tire problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2012

I was driving and the low tire pressure indicator came on. I pulled over to a parking lot and proceeded to add air to the tire using an air pump. After filling the tire with air and attempting to dislodge the air pump hose. The end of the tire stem broke off inside of the tire pressure gauge causing the tire to deflate completely. I noticed that the tire stem looked corroded, and I immediately googled the problem with this tire stem and learned that there are numerous complaints where the tire stems on the vehicle corrode (which mine did exactly) and then break off while most are driving. In addition to this problem the vehicle antifreeze reservoir's crack causing the antifreeze to leak out on a constant basis. This too is a item which should have been recalled long ago. Thank you so much for your time and consideration into these reported by un-noted defects in this vehicle.

Took my Dodge Journey 2009 sxt- awd on 09/16/2011 to the dealer because the engine would not crank, they made the repairs. At check-out I was told the vehicle needed 4 new tires. At the time the vehicle had 31,328 miles.

5 Tire problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2011

2009 Dodge Journey sxt. In the year I have owned it, I have replaced brakes twice, as rite now I am replacing them cause they started squeaking a week ago and today they locked up. Also replacing one of the calipers. Any time I take a hard left turn, there is a loud grinding noise. I have replaced the tires already, and have had to replace the rear 2 again recently. Any time I go to brake when going over 40 mph, the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably. I have also recieved a recall from a local dealership for a wiring harness in drivers side. When I went in to dealership, they put it on order and said they would call when it came in, but never did. That was 6 months ago.

6 Tire problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2011

Break, rotors, tires and power transfer unit replace only at one year of ownership. This is the second year and I have to do it all over again. Repair cost off the roof and continue to build up. I don't fell safe driving it because of the fast rate this vital parts consume. Dealer continues to tell me that the repair cost is not included in my warranty agreement but I believe manufacturer has to be responsible for the components use to assemble the vehicle.

10 Tire problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2010

Bought 2009 Dodge sxt awd off showroom floor, car currently has 25,600 miles on it. Have had it in shop 12-15 times with recalls and mechanical issues. Tire pressure sensor continually comes on every 2-3 weeks has been back to dealership on this numerous times to be told theres nothing wrong. Brakes replaced at 18,000 miles and now need a new set yet agian in front and back with less then 7000 miles on these ones. Now tires have all seperated on the inner wall of all four tires with the one I had been complaining about showing medal tread and told tires cant be replaced becuase kumho no longer makes those and I will ned to pay over $240 a tire to replace with a back order. The car has been to Dodge dealership for all regular scheduled maintence (oil changes& tire rotations) and the issue of the seperation has never been mentioned even through brake changes. The car is falling apart piece by piece and im almost afraid to have my family drive down the street any longer in it but have no where to turn. What recourse do I have? something needs to be done for those of us that have been sold on a safe relaible car. That has been nothing but a major mechanical issue within the first 2 weeks of owning it. Please tell me what avenue of recourse we have?.

11 Tire problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2010

Was driving to arizona with approximately 8000miles on the car and tires. Stopped for a break and noticed the the rear tires going flat. Took the car to dealership and had to pay for new tires. The inside wall on the rear tires were gone with only 8000miles on them . Dealership stated they have never seen anything like this before. Purchasing dealership refuses to honor replacement/reimbursement like there is no issue.

12 Tire problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2009

I have had our Dodge Journey awd since Feb 2009; to date we have had to replace rotaters and brakes three times along with two sets of tires. I am getting ready to be forced to replace them again (4th time) as well as the tires. I bought the Dodge because I thought it was a good safe/low maintenance car. I will never purchase another Dodge if I survive this one! Dodge doesn't care and advises that it is "normal" wear! this car needs to be recalled before some one is hurt!.

13 Tire problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

I purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey in Feb of 09. It is now may 2011 and have had to have rotors resurfaced at 8,000 miles. Have replaced the front brake pads 3 times and the back one twice. And now I need to replace the front rotors. I have been thru 2 set of tires. Currently the car ignition is having problems. It just doesnt want to start at times. I have 4 children and this is my only car. At the one year mark it started running hot and continues to do so periodically. It also keeps loosing oil. Also the radio will be playing and it will just go to a black screen. This car has been nothing but problems and is getting expensive to repair. It is due to go in for service for the ignition and the recall on the door wiring on wed. I would never buy a dogde again!!! cant wait to get rid of this car.

14 Tire problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2008

2009 Dodge Journey tires and tire censors boise,id larry miller Dodge. Have had issues with tires air pressure and censor every month since buying 2009 Dodge Journey in 2008. I have only taken my Journey to the dealer ship for all repairs on my Journey every time I take my vehicle I tell them I am still having the same issue with my tires. They deflate often and the censor turns on after I leave anywhere between 48hrs up to 2 weeks. Like I said this has been a consistent issue since I drove my car off the lot in 2008 and still hasn't been resolved and now they are telling me I should just buy new tires. I understand that it is almost time for new tires but I feel that censor and deflation in my tires should have been resolved a long time ago. Because of this issue I have spent many hrs in the repair waiting for them to try to figure out the issue 3-5 hrs each time. Because they haven't been able to resolve I will never buy a Dodge vehicle again. Dodge has given me a very bad experience with my first car. I wish that I had went with the original vehicle that I wanted to purchase a Subaru outback.
