The contact noticed a large puddle of power steering fluid underneath the vehicle. The contact called hawk Chrysler Dodge Jeep (7911 w roosevelt rd, forest park, IL 60130, (708) 366-1001) and was informed that there was no recall on the vehicle; therefore, the repair costs would not be covered. The manufacturer was contacted and agreed with the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 180,000.

2 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2013

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the power steering failed and all the instrument panel indicators illuminated. The dealer could not diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 78,103.

3 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2011

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact was driving 40 mph when the power steering failed. The contact was unable to control the vehicle and crashed into a curb before the vehicle stalled with the the sba warning light illuminated. The dealer inspected the vehicle and advised that as a result of the crash, the control box and other components were damaged, causing the sba light to illuminate. The contact later received notification of a manufacturers recall and the vehicle was inspected by a representative sent on behalf of the manufacturer. The representative advised that the recall was not associated with the power steering failure. The contact was concerned that the vehicle and tire components were not effectively remedied and believed the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 35,000.
