My car is junk. I have actually put tens of thousands of dollars into this car to keep it on the road. I would get rid of it but I owe more than it’s worth. This is insane. I cannot believe that none of the recalls come up on my VIN because I’ve had to pay for so many repairs that are on recall lists for this car. Help me.
I was driving to work and after about 15 minutes of driving at around 45 miles an hour my car stopped accelerating when I pushed on the gas. Shortly after that my wheel locked and the power steering went out. Once I got myself on the side of the road the car would not turn off and I had trouble putting it in park. After a few minutes I was able to turn the car off and they called a tow truck to take me to a mechanic. The tow truck driver was able to restart the car and get the car in neutral to tow it to a mechanic.
Since purchasing this vehicle we have had catalytic converter issues that have persisted even after having the dealer "fix" the issue. We have also had abs/traction control module issues. This is the 2nd identical vehicle owned with the exact same problems.
When I purchased the car many problems did occur: car does has a) gas problem ( like air inside. . . Car stop working etc. . . ) b) car has new battery ( in my 1st year) but it does not start c) car computer was wipe it out( virus ??) d) and the major: car has hydrolic problem ( transmission, power train and gas issue).
My vehicle started with a noise on Thursday. Thursday night it started to rev on its own. Friday morning, it continued to rev. Then the vehicle slowed down, ultimately stopping. Turned car off. Then on and would not move in any gear.
This vehicle constantly shakes at about the 50 mph. Engine light starts to come on and there is a hesitation to accelerate. This is extremely dangerous and I read several others issues with the misfire. Something needs to be done before others are hurts. . . Very serious issue.
The vehicle intermittently shakes at about 45-50 mph. It sounds and feels as if you were going at accelerated speeds over rumble strips. Sometimes this is followed by hard engine thumping. I have noticed during rain and days leading up to rain the issue is more predominant. There are also issues with misfires at idle that is unexplained by several mechanic shops (11 in a matter of 3 years). Because they are unable to recreate any of these issues they are unable to diagnose them. I have been to numerous shops while my car was within warranty and denied any fix due to none of them being able to recreate this issue. Now my warranty is up and the issue still persists even after thousands spent on attempting to get a diagnosis. This is extremely dangerous! complete stability and control of the vehicle is lost and will inevitably cause a serious incident. In the middle of the highway during misfires the cars abs and traction control lights come on and the vehicle goes into low power mode almost instantly.
Power surging or fuel surging during accelerating. When I try to get up to speed it is like it cuts out on fuel and surges.
When accelerating it has a hesitation like the fuel supply shuts off befriefly or it is misfiring or something that is causing me to not be able to accelerate up to speed when taking off or during driving. It has happened multiple times over the past several months.
Air conditioning comes on by itself , gas runs out too fast.
After driving in about 70 degree sunny day for about 45 min the traction control light and abs light dinged on then after pressing the accelerator the vehicle chuffed and completely died in the middle of a busy interction. Turn the vehicle off for about 10 min and continued driving another 45 min without a problem. This has happened on several occasions at various speeds from a stop to about 70 mph.
My Journey will turn off sitting a stop light or just turn off while accelerating from a stop position. Entering or exiting traffic. When checking engine light the camshaft sensor was defective. This causing my car to turn off.
There is a bucking, jolting action at intervals. After stopping, vehicle loses pickup action.
Vehicle stalls after coming to stop and attempting to resume. It starts back up after being put into park and pushing ignition button.
My catalytic convertor is bad, and I'm only at 85,286 miles. I can't believe this part is already bad on a 2 year old car. This happened when I was driving, and my check engine light came on. Nothing specific happened that should cause this issue. Also, my struts are leaking. I didn't even know this until I had my car checked at the dealership. Why are these parts failing already?.
This occurred in a driveway upon start-up of vehicle. The vehicle refused to start during cranking of engine. Dealership was contacted for advice, they recommended to jump the vehicle. Directions were followed with hood in the open position and fuel was observed spraying out of the engine compartment upon cranking of the engine. The dealership was contacted again in which they towed the car to their shop to diagnose the problem. They noted the fuel line attached to fuel rail was improperly installed (at factory as described by dealership garage) which caused the fuel to spray throughout the engine compartment.
This is the third time in 3 months. . . The check engine light turns on, goes off, then the fuel cap light comes on. The first time we were told it was a sensor and there was a minor vapor leak detected so Dodge replaced the sensor. The second time it happened, there was a major vapor leak detected so they replaced the gas cap. This is the third time and are waiting to see what is causing it now. Also, yet another issue occurred in which the air bag light came on and the air conditioning fan would not blow, supposedly that situation resolved itself although this was witnessed by the service department at the dealership because they could not recreate it. Finally, we purchased a 4 cylinder and live in a climate that gets up over 115 degrees. When accelerating, the a/c blows warm. The service department has stated that this is a known issue with the 4 cylinder Dodge Journeys.
I have had my car right at 3 months and it just shuts off with no warning. I have children in this car going down the interstate and it just shuts off. There is no warning signs and no way to get it off the side of the road. I'm just dead in the water hoping no one will rear end us. It has been in the shop 2 times and they have it a day and say shows nothing and send it back to me. It is very hard to get it into the shop and they act like I'm the problem cause they can't find it. It's my only car and I keep telling them what is going on and they say juat keep driving it. It takes several min for it to finally start then it seems to clear out the codes. I have called them and expressed my concerns about the safety of my kids and my self. They seem to not be worried. But I have seen I'm not the only one with this problem and nothing is being done. I guess when it kills my family or someone else thenaybe something will be done. This happens at least 3 xs a week if not more and I have no clue when it will happen. It's very scary. Please can u help me before my family ends up killed.
