When pushing the start button the vehicle continues to turn over but takes awhile before it cranks and it usually happens when it's a cold crank and it's been sitting for awhile I'm pretty sure it's the fuel pump. Also whenever your getting in and backing out the brakes squeak pretty bad and this vehicle has less the 25k miles on it.

Stopped at red light and when I step on the gas peddle check engine light came on and the car stalled, the dashboard, radio and a/c were still on. Attempted to turn on car and it shake to try to turn off but wouldnt. Took it to carmax and car would not recognized car key to turn on. Carmax thought it was the battery and it wasn't that. They said it was the fuel pump, had it replaced but car would start and it turn off less then 5min. Carmax suggested taking to Dodge dealership for engine tare down to find out what is wrong with it. Estimate of cost to repair is $3200-5300. Car is at 77k-78k miles on it. From what I read this is where the car starts to stall upon reaching amount of miles on it.

When driving over 50 mph the rpm starts escalating and goes back to normal. Rpm repeats after one to two minutes. After putting a full tank of gas, check engine light came on and meter read gas tank empty. Vehicle stayed with the dealership for 8 days first time. Fuel pump and wires was fully replaced. Vehicle is back with dealership for a second time. This time the gas meter reads less than 3/4 tank as a full tank of gas is put into the vehicle. Rpm starts doing the same thing when the vehicle hits 50 mph. Was informed by the dealership fuel pump and wires are the reason for my vehicle being in the shop again. Vehicle is back twice in the shop less than 2 months. Still without a proper working vehicle.

I have a 2010 Dodge Journey 81,000 miles & had it about 1 year. Over the past 6 months I have bought 6 batteries because my car would fail to start. My front wipers would randomly move when the care was parked and no one in it then my back wipers would do the same. The Dodge ram light on my dashboard would come on randomly when the care was parked and key was not in the ignition. Finally took it to the Dodge dealership in Feb, they replaced the battery, kept the care for over a week, called me and stated that the car had a battery drainage problem but when on the diagnostic test, the problem wouldn't show its face long enough for the mechanic to track down the problem. They also stated the reason my horn didn't work was because someone took out the fuse. When they put the fuse back in, my horn would randomly go off no matter if it was parked or if I was driving it. I took the car back home and sure enough, less than a week later, same issue. They kept the car for another 2 weeks, same outcome! could not track down the issue. A week after I got the car back, I was driving and as I pressed the gas, my car wouldn't accelerate!! I was in 5pm traffic with 2 kids, almost caused a wreck trying to get over to a parking lot. My steering wheel would hardly move! had to have the car towed again to the Dodge dealership. I have asked again and again if it was the tipm but I get nowhere!!!! this car is possessed and Dodge seems to not care enough to fix the problem or find it for that matter. I dont feel safe driving it (I cant at the moment because they have to fix the fuel pump which is ran by what. . . . You guessed it the tipm)! I never know if the car is going to start from moment to moment nor do I know if im going to be stranded on the side of the road with my children. Again! a car should not have this may issues and the dealership not knowing or acknowledging the problem!.

My vehicle failed to start. After research and finding information that there is an issue with tipm and the fuel pump relay that is built into the circuit card fails and cuts out the fuel pump and shuts off the engine. Luckily that this vehicle was not on the road when it failed and cause a serious accident. My understanding that there is a legal law suit for same issues but for newer models. 2012 Jeep and caravans ect. . . I have checked for power for the fuse box and no power coming from and 2 points for fuse. I have called Dodge recall list and under my VIN there is no recall for this issue.
Brakes, allignment, drive shaft was bent. . . 4th set of tires purchased in Feb. 2013 gas tank & fuel pump needed replaced April 2013 caliper locked up causing fire, vehicle needed to be towed may 2013.
While driving the car on a busy road it suddenly lost power and died while driving it, had it towed to a dealership and it was discovered that the fuel pump fuse had blown, the car is only 1yr old. The second time we were driving down a busy high way and the same thing happened this time it was determined that the fuel pump was bad the dealer replaced it, there have been a multitude of problems with this vehicle from the ac not coming on to the radio/nav screen not coming on when the car is started. Brake problems seems to be the next thing that is rough on this vehicle.
Since I purchased this vehicle in September of 2011 i¿ve had problems from the radio not working, power outlets not working, bad cylinder heads, have random loss of acceleration, bad gas tank and fuel pump. According to the technician at the dealer the Journey has a problem with the cylinder going bed within the first year. The fuel pump had to be replaced twice. The first time they replaced it I broke down in the middle of the freeway 3 days later with my family in the vehicle. The brakes and steering wheel locked up and the vehicle shutoff. I was a sitting duck waiting to be hit be oncoming vehicles. I had the vehicle towed back to the dealer and 3 days later i¿m told that the vehicle is fixed but I need to replace the brakes because they were at 0%. First of all I just had to replace the tires 2 months prior and my brakes were fine now I have no brakes at all. Secondly they said they road tested the vehicle the first time they should have fixed the issue but yet they didn¿t tell me I needed new brakes. I couldn¿t fuel my vehicle to full. It generally stop around 3/4. They have replaced everything there is to replace and the car still doesn¿t work. After the second time the fuel pump was replaced I was told my vehicle was fixed I picked it up and it was worse than when I drop it off. The vehicle was making loud noises, vibrating, and I still couldn¿t tell how much gas was in the tank. On top of all of that they tried to charge me 20 dollars for gas and when I refused to pay they took the gas out the vehicle and left it on the line next to the e. I had enough gas to make it to the gas station. Needless to say i¿m still without a vehicle.
