Drivers side has semi warm air when heat is on vent, passenger side blows cold. The defroster blows freezing cold air on passenger side. Does not always switch over to defroster causing it very hard to see when windshield is fogged over. Actuators have been changed out. Rear heat works great.

The issues started after the recall for the speed control computer flash was done, about 2 weeks after I noticed that my rear wiper would only turn on when the car was in reverse. If I would put the rear wiper switch in the on position nothing would happen. So in order to stop the rear wiper from moving while in reverse, I have to leave the switch on the on position, my rear wiper also moves when I unlock my car. . Following that my reverse lights do not come on. Then my left tail gate light does not come on when lights are turned on but it does come on when I unlocked the car. When I open the rear hatch door none of the interior lights turn on. So I am forced to open another door if I want the lights to turn on. Also when I go to reverse my back up camera screen goes black and also starts to glitch. This happens occasionally.

Tl the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the passenger side window was in the down position and failed to close. The contact placed a bag on the window; however, water entered the vehicle. Afterwards, while driving at unknown speeds, smoke emerged from the passenger side door, the other remaining doors failed to lock, and the windows failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact to call NHTSA. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 175,000.

We have owned our Journey for three years. Starting last year we have had a significant electrical issue that no one can fix. In order to unlock our doors, one has to press unlock an upward of 5 times. This has become an everyday occurrence and poses a threat to safety if we ever get in an accident. During these events the vehicle is stationary. We have noticed that the clock in the Journey will either gain time or loose it, without us even touching it over the course of a week or more at a time, we've given up on setting it at all. Again, the vehicle is stationary. One in every four times entering the Journey, our main dome light (around the second row of seats) will be illuminated without any interaction from us and its normally on for hours at a time. Stationary in our driveway or in a parking lot. Finally, our rear windshield wiper seems to have a short or something wrong with it. Some days it works perfectly fine and other days we are unable to turn it on to use it. I often go out to the car and notice the wiper is half done wiping the window and stuck there. Recently if you hit a bump, the rear windshield wiper would go off and wipe the glass without our interaction. All of this happens while stationary or while driving. Also just recently its noticed by my wife that the Journey sometimes locks if we shut the door while warming it up. She mentioned that sometimes when locking the car it would honk more than once or sometimes the key fob wasn't operational (leading to us opening up the key fob, making sure the battery was seated properly and closing it back up) this is while stationary. The date I have associated with this isn't the date of the occurrence because this has all taken place over the past year to a little longer than a year. We've taken it to more than one repair shop to no avail.

My Dodge Journey has less than 70,000 miles on it. At this point the entire rear drive shaft and all motor and transmission mounts have been replaced. They were all severely damaged. Tires show significant wear even though vehicle is within alignment standards. The far left vent (driver's side) blows cool air, but the other three front vents are blowing heat. There is a severe, loud roaring sound that has yet to be diagnosed. This is a ridiculous amount of problems in such a short time of vehicle usage.

Heat blows out of driver side vents but blows cold out of passenger side vents.
Car "froze"while driving. Alarm started going off. Windshield wipers and washer fluid and alarm kept going though I pulled over and shut off card. Suddenly it stopped. Turned car back on, check engine light was on then turned off. Now door locks don't work, back hatch won't open. Washer fluid is low. Key fob does not work.
This is not the first time this has happened. My windshield wipers come on by themselves and will not turn off, had to remove fuse. As I was driving home from work they came on and wouldn't turn off. Then the turn signals, headlights, and dashboard lights stopped working. This car has a mind of its own and these work when they feel like it; meaning they come and go, working one second then not the next, then working again. . . . Usually they don't work and stop for a long period of time then eventually work again like nothing happened. This time I'm not so sure how long it is going to go on because it is worse and ongoing. I am finding just how dangerous it is not to be able to use turn signals, etc. I am unable to drive to work now because of the headlights! and now the rain is coming in and I am not going to be able to drive without headlights or wipers. There should be a recall on this - there are sooo many complaints! if something happens to me or my children or grandchildren there will be a lawsuit filed as there is no reason for this not to be recalled with all the complaints and danger it entails. Complaints I have read are about air bags not deploying, cars stalling in the middle of driving down the road, etc. This is totally absurd!!!!! and as bad as my car is getting these problems won't be far behind. I do not have the money to dole out for this being a single mom as it is a costly fix, which is exactly why they refuse to recall I am sure!!.
Visibility obstruction: the heater has slowly been losing heat and is only blowing cold air. Visibility is severely obstructed due to the defrost system not working properly. The defrost system is blowing cold air not clearing the windshield and seriously obstructing visibility.

Nothing has happened yet rear window wipers don't completely go all the way causing a blindspot when you look out it. Driver cannot see passager side in rear window.
"takata recall" my Dodge Journey was stationary, I tuned the key and my windshield wipers came on, they were in the "off" position but yet they are going back and fourth. None of my lights except the front and back are working, my dash is dimmed, and it sounds like my cars is ready to stall. Upon looking online, I see several complaints about this issue, but I'm not sure if it is a recall. . . This is a very big problem that needs to be corrected by Chrysler/Dodge! 2009 144,000 miles.
The heat/defrost does not work and I can't see out the front windshield in winter. I take it back to the dealer every winter and pay for a new heater core and flushing, but I have been told that the problem is more fundamental--the residual sand from the casting is forming a "sludge-like" residue in the heater core and radiator. The vehicle cannot be safely driven in winter due to visibility issues created by the lack of working heat/defrost due to this issue.
No heat from passenger side vents on any setting, whether driving or stationary. As a result, defrost performance does not meet fmvss 103. Flushed heater core and a lot of debris came out and heat worked on both sides. Numerous similar cases have been reported online. Attached image is of sediment that came out during flush.
Intermittent non-function of power windows, interior dome lights and dash lights cannot be activated or controlled with steering column controls, rear wiper washer motor activates when rear wiper is turned on, but turns off when the controls are advanced to the spray function. Keyless unlock intermittently non-functional. Took vehicle to dealership and was diagnosed as a faulty totally integrated power module (timp). Unfortunately the Journey was omitted from the timp recall campaign leaving the customer on the hook for the repairs. This vehicle should be added to the recall list as it poses a safety risk of lack of wipers and other possible safety issues while driving.
I was out of town parked at a store would not start. As I was waiting on someone to come help me then 30 mins or so later my car started up. My boys and I cut our vacation short because its very unsafe having your car not start in a place you know no one. We've changed the battery. The next month I was getting gas and it wouldn't start again. I had a person jump me and took it to get checked out and they found nothing wrong with the car. So a month and a half the car did it again I was at the mall and it wouldn't start. This is a horrible feeling not knowing when or if your car is going to start or not. We can't drive out of town in it because the uncertainty if it's going to start or not. Which it is unfair to my boys when we at least do something on summer break or fall break or even winter break and we can't even go outside of our city.
Windshield wipers only work on high, must carefully, purposefully time turning them off or they get stuck anywhere between the top and bottom of the windshield. Are not consistent with turning on. Parts are on backorder, please recall this.

I was driving on highway 29 going to columbia MD in a heavy rainstorm and my electric system in my truck shut off, I could see because the everything that needed power just stopped working in the middle of the highway. The car was still running but the computer system had shut off and I had a car full of kids. This scared us so bad , luckily I was able to ease to the side of the road where I turned that car off and back on to check if the electric system would come on. It did but as we got off the exit it cut off again.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that on several occasions, the turn signals failed to operate as intended. In addition, the windshield wipers activated independently. The contact also stated that the headlights remained on continuously after the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact stated that the dealer reset the totally integrated power module, however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
While on vacation and driving in rainy conditions, wipers stopped midway on window. Motor, went out. Took to dealership on the road and had no parts,so drove to final destination and it took 4 days to expidite parts to repair car.
The key fob was the first thing I noticed,it wouldn't lock/unlock the car, hanged the battery, nothing changed. Months later I cannot lock/unlock with the key fob or on the door panel. The car stays unlocked all the time (not good) also the back wiper no longer works. . Now, the horn. . . The horn does not stop honking!!! doesn't matter if you're driving or the car is off an parked. . . . . Also unsafe. I had to disconnect it and been without for over a yr. I've contacted Dodge. . Seems to be the same story I see online, they are surprised and never heard of anyone having an issue🤔🤔 seems fishy. And let's not forget the engine,it sometimes starts . . Sometimes I have to wait for it to kick in. I used to not even be able to turn it on at all and have to shift it in diff. Gears to get it to go. I am hoping someone can help. Im fed up with Dodge.
12/7/15 took 2009 Journey with 58575 miles to Dodge dealership because the windshield wipers were coming on by themselves. Dealership replaced 2 windshield wiper switches costing $552. 44. Drove vehicle out of shop 12/8/15 got 1/4 mile away and wipers turned on by themselves in addition the left signal turned on. Drove back to Dodge picked up later and was advised they updated tipm software - no charge because I called Dodge complaints. 2/26/16 problems stated again currently have appointment to bring back to Dodge dealership 3/7/16 will update.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact observed that all of the windows were separating from the vehicle. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
Attempted to used the remote to unlock the doors but it would not work. Changed the battery still did not work. Had to use the key to unlock the driver door manually. Once in the door locks buttons would not unlock the other doors. Had to open front passenger door manually from insidchre the car. Pull up the door locks on both rear doors in order for the to be opened. Once the car was on we noticed the rear wiper blade does not work nor does the trunk open. There is no manual way to open the trunk at all. I've checked the manual and it never described this issue. Googled it and a lot of others has described this happening to their car but no one can pin point the issue. We changed the fuse this now allowed the driver door only to unlock using the remote, but we still have to manually unlock the rear doors to open them and pull the handle on the front passenger door to open it, as it can't be opened at all from the outside. Changing the fuse did not have an affect on the rear wiper or the trunk. I've never seen a vehicle where the trunk has no other way to be opened. This made it very hard to get to the handle for the spare tire. Received call from customer service after a facebook complaint and they advised we needed to bring it in to the dealer so they can figure it out. We are skeptical because a few months prior to that we took it to the dealer to fix a very bad drag. When you make a left hand turn the car drags and goes really slow and takes a few seconds to get back to normal speed. The dealer charged us close to $500 and did not fix the problem. They fixed something that did not need fixing and told us if was fixed we had to turn around not even a minute after pulling off the lot with it to advise them it was not fixed. They wanted to keep charging us for different things because they could not figure out what it was. We declined because no money for guesses.
High speed on blower does not work anymore. This can affect visibility if defogger can't keep up on lower settings. Issue traced to melted control board, suggesting the possibility of a thermal event.
Bought this wonderful (not) car to replace my minivan. Within the first month, when I would put my cell phone in the "cave" under the radio, the radio would scan. Did this multiple times and eventually when I opened the doors (a couple of times), the radio actually muted,,,,they checked it out and they replaced the radio, then something else to do with the radio. . . . Butttt, it still does it. Mentioned that while driving through country roads, the read end gets loose. After he asked me 1) do you drive fast through on the country roads and 2) do I live in in the country (both no answers), they "checked it out" and bam. . . . New shocks on the back. Kinda miffed that they questioned my driving ability actually. I told them that the transmission seemed to shift weird. They checked it out and said there was an "upgrade" that could be done, and they did it. Seemed to work for a while, but it is doing it again. Turned the rear wiper on and off (light rain) and it kept going. I did not push the washer option, and know how to work a rear wiper, but when I mentioned that to them, they looked at me like I was an idiot and explained how the washer option works. But of course, they could find nothing wrong with it. With my next oil change, they are checking on the creaking sound that it makes while driving on bumpy roads at slow speeds. . . . They think that it is the bearings in my leaf spring, but sounds like when we had to replace a strut on my van. All in all, I like the room and setup of the inside of the car, but boy. . . . I have never paid so much for a lemon in my life!! and. . . . Guess who didn't buy the extended warranty????? you guessed it.
Vehicle battery drained. Replaced battery and wipers stayed on continuously. Multi function switch was inoperative which controls the turn signals, high and low beam, and fog lights. Factory navigation with surrounding area caught fire with no key in the ignition while car was parked in driveway resulting in total loss of vehicle.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the windshield wipers activated independently. In addition, all windows rolled upwards and downwards intermittently. All warning lights on the instrument cluster illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to multiple independent mechanics who diagnosed that the power train control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Oo.
The part that is defected is tipm(total integrated power module) which I guess you can say the brain. I was driving on my way to work and all of a sudden my whole dash board goes dark and then that's when things went crazy. The wipers starting going and would not stop, this was a dry day can you imagine. The gauges went haywire such as my thermostat went to zero, signal lights would not work, radio died, gas light came on and no speed odometer. All this to say that I travel about 65 miles or so one way to work. Did not know what to think of this and as I continue driving thank goodness to that. The dash board start again to go dark and things came back on and this happen again before I got to work. Need less to say what a way to start out the morning, I thought there may have been a gremlin in my vehicle or some ghost from pass. Trying to brush this off and said this was a fluke or something. I did finally take it to a dealer and this was what was told to me and the cost is almost $900. 00 just for this part, that is crazy. I did not fix this that day because I said this is ridiculous. Then in reading up on this issue there have been numerous complaints about this situation with auto/dealer and they refuse to recall and take care of this real safety issue. This was one of there first cross over vehicle made so there was room for error and errors should be fix by them. Shame on them not to. I need this to be taken care of by them not me the consumer who still has to pay for this vehicle. I need your help! thanks.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start without warning. On a different occasion, the contact mentioned that vehicle stalled without warning and restarted after the transmission was shift into park. Also, the contact indicated that the passenger side heat unit failed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the technician initially diagnosed that the win module ann the pentium intake was defective. The remedy failed to repair the problem and as a result, the technician determined that the transmission range sensor needed to be replaced. The technician diagnosed that the trans range sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the VIN was included in recall NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 91,000. Ss.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. While the vehicle was being serviced for routine maintenance, the technician noticed that the windshield wipers activated independently. In addition, the instrument panel indicators dimmed and failed to illuminate. The dealer stated that moisture and condensation inside of the wiring harness caused the wires to become corroded. As a result, the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 77,600.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. When the contact started the vehicle, the windshield wipers activated independently. In addition, both front power windows failed to operate when engaged. The failures were sporadic. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.
I purchased a 2014 Dodge Journey June 6, 2014. The following day my wife noticed large spotting on the (6) side glass panels- problem with the polarization process. I returned the vehicle for replacement on June 9, 2014- the car had 35 miles on the odometer. The dealer and Chrysler llc declined vehicle replacement. They made the decision to attempt to replace all (6) side panels of glass. The first attempt resulted in another batch of equally defective auto glass. But now I had new problems. Now the windows binded and squeaked with every window use. I demanded vehicle replacement again. The dealer and Chrysler llc again declined. They wanted one more shot at replacing the auto glass. This 2nd attempt resulted in another batch of defective auto glass and the windows squeaked and binded. Also now I had body damage as both rear doors had (4) inch creases in them from the repair attempt. I demanded vehicle replacement again. The car had slightly over 100 miles on the odometer at the time. Chrysler refused replacement and stated they were done working on the car. I traded in this 2014 Dodge Journey and took a 5,000. 00 loss. This was on a car that had 168 miles on the odometer. Chrysler did not offer me a buy back or goodwill allowance on a vehicle that I did not feel safe in after (2) failed repair attempts and the windows still were binding.
