Vehicle Dodge Magnum r/t 5. 7l 2005 engine stalls unexpectedly when moving slow speed/low rpm, loses power steering and brakes. Does happen occasionally may go months without an incident. Vehicle start normally right after. Extremely dangerous especially when making left turn over oncoming traffic lanes and crossing lanes. Had two incidents yesterday as described. This issue need to be investigated and recalled for complete repair. Called Chrysler customer service who were unwilling to assist with an issue but admit warranty extension to the fuel tank's multifunction control valve fuel shutoff float in the 19-gallon tanks. I found NHTSA comment in its summary of the closed investigation. "the condition represents a low risk to motor vehicle safety and is adequately addressed by Chrysler's extended warranty. " I disagree with NHTSA comments whether this is "low risk to motor vehicle safety". Try to be stalled on the lane when 20 ton dump truck is approaching 50-60 miles per hour.

I started having problems with my 2006 Magnum srt8 this past winter. With absolutely no warning while driving approximately 10 mph in drive, the engine cutoff and lost all power completely. I also lost all power steering and power brakes. Thank goodness I was on a back road. All of the warning lights flashed on and off and then the check engine light came on. I had to put the car back in park, completely turn off the ignition and restart the car. It restarted without any problems. I drove a few more miles and the exact same thing happened. Again, lucky I was on a back road!! I made it home and it stalled a 3rd time just as I pulled it into the garage. Again, completely random while driving!!!! I took it to my local dealership who could not re-create the problem. I paid for the 60,000 mile service and did not have issues again until this past weekend when the same issue occurred 5 times in 2 days. Again, completely random while driving!!. Dangerous. These particular times occurred after filling the gas tank. I have read multiple similar complaints. Something needs to be done before someone gets killed on the road. I will be taking my car into the dealership once again for diagnostics. I am an anesthesiologist and it doesn't take to one to realize that this is a serious safety issue that needs complete attention and a complete investigation. I love my car but I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. Dodge and NHTSA, you cannot ignore this. Please feel free to contact me as I will be contacting you.
