1 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2002

Consumer states that the vehicle was involved in a frontal collision of 40mph and neither air bag deployed. Dealer notified. Please provide further information. Ts.

2 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2002

When applying the brakes, the vehicle will start to pulsate at any speed. Also, extended stopping distance. Contacted dealer. The consumer states the following as problems occured: the passenger air bag, throttle blade icing, defective rotors, charging system over charging-no trouble codes; 3 battery replacements(defective per mechanic), many gas tank repairs/replacements(would not take gas without clicking and ticking/filler tank/gas tank), warning brake light and buzzer chimes when brake is applied also with the gas pedal when applied (due to defective rotors and lack of brake fluid, transmission problem-grinding noise/won't go in reverse, brake noise in rear tire/brake booster replace per recall-needs rotors & pads in front, a/c blows warm air-compessor clutch wouldn't engage(found broken wire), problem with the voltage regulator, and noise in the power steering.

3 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2002

Another driver at 30 to 35 mph, hit consumer mid-front section, and none of the airbags deployed.

4 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2002

While driving at 35-45 mph consumer flipped vehicle over several, times but none of the air bags deployed. Contacted dealer, and the dealer was not willing to do anything.

5 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2002

Both airbags failed upon vehicle rear-ending a larger vehicle.

6 Front Air Bag problem

Consumer ran into a ditch, hit a sign and airbags didn't deploy. Vehicle cannot be driven. Dealer has to inspect vehicle to find the error. Airbag wasn't on, and fuse wasn't blown.

Consumer was braking as normal but vehicle was racing, and did not stop in time, causing a rear end accident. Accelerator did not go down. Air bags didn't deployed during accident.

Failure Date: 05/22/1999

Consumer is stating that her daughter, lora beth, was involved in a head on collision and killed. She was driving at 35-40 mph. She was wearing a safety belt, and the airbag deployed. She was sitting at least 10 inches from the steering wheel, and was 5 feet 7 inches tall. Parents believe the deploying force of the airbag may have killed her. The Neon?s design dips in the front and if a driver slams on the brake it would dip even more, this might delay the air bag deployment.

17 Front Air Bag problem
