Wheel Problems of Dodge Neon

Rim leaks from all 4 tires due to the chrome separating from interior of the steel wheel. A local mechanic said he has seen a lot of this. He wire wheeled the inside of the rim to knock loose pieces of chrome off and replaced the tire on the rim. It is holding air for now but will have to be done again as more chrome starts to flake off. Not realizing her tire was flat. My wife drove on it and ruined it.

I noticed that my car would make a brushing noise whenever it moved (with the gas or without the gas). I assumed that it was the brakes, so I took it to a mechanics to have it taken care of. What they discovered, however, was that it was not the brakes creating the noise, but the tires and the rims. Apparently, either the rims or the tires are the wrong size causing them to rub against one another whenever the car moves and makes the tires flex. When investigating recalls, found that there was a recall for the same exact problem for the model, just not for my specific car. Apparently, in certain cars the wrong placard was placed on the inside of the drivers door indicating the wrong tire size, therefore causing mechanics to replace the tires with the wrong size. I believe that this is the same problem as my vehicle has, but a recall has yet to be issued for it.

While driving at low speeds front wheel came off. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

I had an car wreck in my 1998 Dodge Neon (blue) in November 24,2002 due to the breaks & the tires & the air bag did not come out when I wreck & I got stuck in my seat belt out the car wreck & then I had another 1999 Dodge Neon (white) & I had car problems with it to.

Clearcoat shows signs of deteriorating. Wheels replaced once after app. 6 mo. New wheels are doing the same.
