My airbag light came on a week ago and wont go off. Very nerve wracking. If I fill gas tank gas comes back out of tank all over me and truck. Key fob stopped working setting off engine immobilizer costing me $207 for a new key because the one that came with truck could not be just reprogrammed. I love my truck, but it is becoming one thing after the other and as a single disabled mom of an 8 year old, I cant afford this money pit. Especially with what my loan costs me every month. I seriously thing Chrysler should take some responsibility for problems in their vehicles especially since I see a lot of people have complained about the same issues. I can say I will never buy another Chrysler product again. We little people pay more than enough for these vehicles, to just have to turn around and invest thousands more. I would not complain if it was just mine, but when you look and see all the other people that have complained about the same issues, then its time to complain because it is obviously not just mine and not just because its an older vehicle which I had thought til I saw the other complaints!!!!!!!!!!.
My passenger air bag light came on and want go off when I started my vehicle. Sure I be worry?.
In the past two years I've had to disconnect battery several times because wipers would continuously turn on and lights on and not shut off. Air conditioner stopped working out of no where after it had been professionally refilled just a year ago. Since I purchase the vehicle from a used car dealer 3 years ago, the power train feels like it pulls on take off also makes an airplane like noise and after picking up certain speed it then drives normal. Once in a while on acceleration it feels like it loose speed or stalls. Engine light went on with code p0507 which can be any issue pertaining to higher fuel pressure. I just replaced battery last month and decided to put a more powerful one to see if maybe issues would resolved but it did not help. About 2 days ago I got the air bag light turn on. When I purchase vehicle there was a recall for the drive shaft heat shield. I took vehicle to dealer to resolve recall and at the same time I mentioned concerning how the vehicle felt and the hissing sound like an airplane taking off when first accelerating. Dodge dealer advised stated that there was a computer (pcm) update that includes some of the issues mentioned but I would have to pay. I found it funny that I would have to pay for something that they claim resolves known issues but I went ahead and paid for it specifically since in the state of florida there is no lemon law when purchasing a used vehicle is purchased as is and I'll go ahead and to mentioned the loan which did not allow me to bargain because they claim to have to used book value. Too bad for Dodge not taking responsibility because the car has good power when its in working condition and it is a good looking car plus roomy for a small SUV; however, a dealer that does not take responsibility for there fault is one to stay away from.
2007 4x2 Dodge Nitro recall. The airbag light stays on. It just appeared out of nowhere about a week ago.
Airbag light came on and won't go off and vehicle was not in an accident to cause this occurance! my son and fianc� were just n a horrific accident in my fianc?s chevy avalanche that caused the truck to roll and our friend, passenger in the vehicle, to ben killed. Now my special needs 10year old won't get in this new car because baby he's afraid since the airbag light is on it will cause us to get into a vehicle. I need a solid resolution to this ASAP! I just finally got him to ride in a vehicle again!.
So why driving this 07 Nitro imeditaly you get a chime from the airbag light it very scary knowing that you get in accident and loose your life thinking air bags wont deploy due to the airbag light never going away and when it does not long and it right back oni feel this be a recall only because this is a serious issue with any vehicle out in the world.
Takata recall - the Nitro was in motion when the airbag light came on and when the white plastic strip came sticking out of my steering wheel column. Before the white plastic strip came sticking out behind the steering wheel, it sounded like something was rubbing or grinding every time I would turn the steering wheel. The ebs/bas light and the slippery when wet light also came on. Now the Nitro was stationary when it won't start and it will click one time along with the dash board lights coming on and the windshield wipers will turn on automatically. Could this be an electrical problem or something to do with the airbag?.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro 4x2. The contact stated that the doors and rear hatch would not unlock unless the engine was running. The contact also stated that the driver's side air bag warning indicator was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing, but the details of the diagnostic could not be provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Airbag light come on and off as not been in wreck comes on while driving and just seating at a stop does not stay on for more than a min are so this is dangerous for me and my kids for it may not work if we are in an accident and it may just go off and cause an accident a lot of people having this issue this needs to be recalled and taken care of by Dodge before someone gets killed.
Electronical issues, like I'm unable t ok open trunk or lock and unlock vehicle with keys check engine light as well as an exclamation point turns on and of while car is on drive. Airbag light doesn't turn off even if both passenger and driver have seatbelts on it beeps while driving.
The air bag light keeps coming on and going off sporadically with out provocation, upon contacting Dodge they tell me my vehicle isn't part of the recall on air bags for the 2007 Nitro - really - so if this air bag explodes without reason who is going to assist me then? obviously after doing some research most Nitro's had this problem and they should all be included in this recall.
Vehicle has a new transmissio now. Fuel backfires out the tank everytime I go to fill up the tank. Then,my insurance gave me a recall list to have it taken in. Took it to the Dodge dealership numerous of times and same problem occurs and they say in they're database its not showing anything on my VIN number. Air bag light goes on and off allday. Car beats and airbag light blinks on and off and is very annoying. A/c compressor is now out and working on getting it replaced but other than that everything is going perfect.

This car has been giving me problems since day one. Window panel don't work , plastic parts inside car break . Air conditioner and heater don't work . Car turns off by itself . Read thousands of complaint online about this car and nothing has been done . 2007 Nitro should be band it's a very dangerous vehicle .

Driving are parked the horn will sound and lights flash. Parked with engine off windshield wipers, and fluid will turn on, and radio will come on. Windows and locks don't work all the time. A new battery will last two days before it won't start. Check engine light stays on even after I had new heads put on. Airbag light stays on.
