Ever since I bought this vehicle, I have been having issues with it registering the key, which keeps causing an automatic security alert system to shut down my vehicle the moment I start it. I've already replaced the battery to my car. I've already had locksmiths examined the issue and nobody can seem to find the problem. The issue with the car is definitely a security issue. The car shuts down automatically and goes into theft mode which prevents me from driving my vehicle. That could be a result to a software malfunction or something but it doesn't register the keys which originally sets off the security warning. Whenever the car does register the key it drives and operates just fine. It's the computer that prevents me from driving it or whatever automatic system that is related to theft mode.

White plastic strip to airbag coming out from behind steering, takata recall white strip coming out behind steering, speed control not working, horn will not blow, strip is getting longer and is hard to turn steering wheel, on city street and highway.
I have already put in problem to this web site but no answers so far, I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro slt that the air bag strips are hanging out behind my steering wheel and now my horn does not blow, my speed control is not working, and the white strip is interfering with my steering could you please have my car recalled for takata air bag it was on a city street while making a turn.
Horn honks whenever it wants. Abs, esp/bas, traction control, and check engine light come on. Abs esp/bas and traction control lights were intermittent but now are consistent. Engine code comes and goes and says it cant communicate with tipm. Occasionally when parking and pulling out of a parking spot it feels like there is no power steering/ runs rough while turning sharply but there is no leak in power steering and it is an intermittent problem.
Driving down the highway and power goes out. No air, no radio, engine will not start.
While driving the vehicle on the interstate it will just shut off. No lights on dash or warning. When this happens you have no power steering or brakes. After getting it stopped and restarting it will drive fine. Other times the remote will not work the locks, it will lock and unlock by them selves after you open the door and try to start vehicle . You can put the key in the ignition and it will not start lights on dash will go off and on and after a few attempts it will start. There are times you can not put in in park you can shut it off and restart it press brake pedal and nothing works to put it in park and then it will just go in park like nothing was wrong. All of these things happen up on occasions with no warning. It all will work fine for weeks or months and then it will act up again. The heater does not blow hot air on one side, every year you can flush out heater hose and radiator and it will blow hot air for a month or so and then it will go back to only blowing warm air out on one side. No codes are ever thrown when the things happen. There is never a warning and when you take it to the dealership or a mechanic they can never find anything wrong with it.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and the steering wheel was difficult to turn. In addition, the air conditioner, radio, and heater failed. While driving, the doors unlocked and locked periodically on their own. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 179,000.
When driving, over the past year, the engine shuts off and the steering wheel locks. I have been in an area that I can stop and restart but the steering is locked up so I can't move the vehicle. I am very scared that it will do it while on the freeway and I will be hit at high speed on the freeway.
I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro with milage at 48,545. I have had a few incidents where I have been driving my car and while turning into a parking space my car has turned off on me out of no where also my stearing wheels locks up on me, thankfully this has not happened while I have been on freeway or on street driving at regular driving speeds otherwise you would have been hearing from my attorney. Also we dont get much rain in California, however during the rainy season I dont know from where but there is water getting into my car on d, leaving puddles of water in my car. Another issue is that my alarm goes off at all times of the day by itself. Also I do regular oil changes as needed on my car,in between oil chnages I notice my oil goes down substantually bout 3 to 4 quarts, and there is no leak in my car. The bottom line here is that the vehcile I purchaed is a lemon.
Steering locked up on me as I was driving and I was unable to turn. I had to pull the car over and then shut it off and then restart it in order to get the steering wheel to work again.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro. While driving at 60 mph, the vehicle veered to the right independently. The contact mentioned that while attempting to steer the vehicle into the correct position, the steering wheel seized and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 11,093. The VIN was unavailable.
I was traveling up the highway when all of my service lights illuminated and I lost complete engine power. I attempted to get my vehicle to the turning lane but it was difficult because of loss of power steering. I got it to the turning lane and tried to restart it several times. This lasted about 15-20 mins to no avail. My vehicle was towed to a local mechanic who could find nothing wrong with the vehicle. I then took my vehicle to the local Chrysler dealership in the next town where they also could not duplicate my incident. The kept my vehicle for 2 weeks and still found nothing wrong, no codes or anything. My brake lights were also staying illuminated even after they unhooked the brake light switch. The dealership contacted the Chrysler engineers for more help in diagnosing the problem. The engineers stated that they were 90% sure that it was the tpim (main computer). The same tpim was recalled in 2007 and was supposedly fixed. The tpim was not replaced due to uncertainty of the engineers and the dealership. I have had this vehicle since April of 2007. The vehicle stalled again on October 2, 2013, and October 8, 2013. On October 8, 2013 the vehicle would not restart for 10 minutes and was once again on the highway traveling at a rate of speed of 50 mph.
We ended up headed towards the sky and took a hard head nose into the earth. We then came up turned in the other directions rocking and rolling in a dry shallow creek bed in nevada. We went up again and landed with two flat tires, in gear, going no where. My air bad did not deploy! my hubby had a huge laceration on the inside of his forearm. Found out later in emergency that the Dodge emblem propelled into his arm. The emblem is very concerning. It could have knocked out his eye, entered his heart or even slashed his throat. It should be removed from all Dodges.
Numerous times over the past few months I have pulled out of my driveway or out of a parking lot and my vehicle has stopped running, forcing me to pull over quickly before my steering locks up,which then requires me to put the vehicle in park and restart it. The vehicle was taken to my local Dodge dealership on April 5th,2012 and on April 6th,2012 I was told they could not find a "code" to explain the issue and unless they kept it for several days to attempt to duplicate the problem there was nothing they could do. The vehicle actually stalled pulling out of a parking lot on the way to the dealership at a low speed. The vehicle does not stall at red lights while idling, only when pulling out onto the roadway. I have great concerns that I will be rear ended in an accident if this issue continues.
