Wheel problem #1

Esp bas lights (appeared after). As I was driving, the car felt like it hit a brick wall even though it didnt, it slammed me into the steering wheel and then continued driving. At that point, the esp bas light came on. Have attempted to contact Dodge or Chrysler by phone with no chance at reaching a person cause of robotic answering services.

Wheel problem #2

My car is always acting as if it is going to flip or gets locked up, even in slow speeds below the speed limit. I am a single mom, not a speed racer.

Wheel problem #3

Takata recall / several times my 4wd will get a service 4wd light and I will lose 4wd. This time I was sitting still in neutral and turned my selector switch from 2wd to 4wd and received the serv 4wd light. Dodge dealership as well as locally owned shops are at a loss of what's wrong. After many searches online I find I am not the only person with this problem and no answer. Also, the security light is flashing, windshield wipers going crazy, horn blaring, and washer fluid squirting our randomly for a long period of time. Help!!! Dodge says 4wd should be fine but is not. . . I only have 2wd and the service light is still on.

Wheel problem #4

The breaks on my 2008 Dodge Nitro keep locking up completely while I'm driving down the hwy. Which causes my truck to come to a abruptly forcefule stop. Especially when I'm traveling at speeds of 65 or more. I can get the brakes to release by unhooking my battery for about 10 minutes. Long enough for the system to reset. My brake pads are slightly worn . My abs light is also on / on my dash.

Wheel problem #5

Horn honks whenever it wants. Abs, esp/bas, traction control, and check engine light come on. Abs esp/bas and traction control lights were intermittent but now are consistent. Engine code comes and goes and says it cant communicate with tipm. Occasionally when parking and pulling out of a parking spot it feels like there is no power steering/ runs rough while turning sharply but there is no leak in power steering and it is an intermittent problem.

Wheel problem #6

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro 4x2. While driving 35 mph, all four wheels locked up and the vehicle stalled. The contact also stated that the driver side, passenger side, rear driver side, and rear passenger side air bags deployed. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact did not receive notification of NHTSA campaign number: 13v121000 (power train, air bags, structure). The contact believed that the recall notification was sent to the owner from whom he bought the vehicle. The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-247-9753 and stated that they would not repair the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 288,000.

Wheel problem #7

While driving to detroit metro airport tire went flat. Have seen on your website complaints regarding corrosion at retaining nut that holds valve stem in place on this vehicle and model year. Key fob was working intermittently, lock and unlock. Now key fob only unlocks driver side door. Again this complaint is listed on your website for this vehicle and model year.

Wheel problem #8

Buying a used 2007 Dodge Nitro 4x4 r/t had it a year and a half with 84,000 mils on it started it up one morning to go get an oil change stopping at mail box first about 20 feet away from my house turned off truck got mail returned to truck would not start tow it to dealer said my engine was bad need to be replaced so it cost me $7,900 to replace , the tires have all ways never keeps it air.

Wheel problem #9

Driving down the expressway and low tire light came on, lost all air in front passenger tire. When I looked the air valve was missing, checked other wheels and found alloy lug nuts( tire pressure moniters) were all cracked and falling off. Had towed to clio randy wise Chrysler. Replaced all 4 sensors and a tire $700 repair ! although it is a 2009 I only have 25,000 miles on it. I'm very upset about paying for this repair ! I made calls only to be told sorry ! I see there are recalls on these just not for my vehicle.

Wheel problem #10

2009 Dodge Nitro - tpm valve stems corrosion at valve stem retaining nut: when retaining nut fails, falls off, it then chews up the inside of the tire, and the valve stem blows out tire while driving - tire goes flat so fast operator must stop before wheel is damaged and now we find out from the dealer that all 4 tires have to be replaced on 4x4 vehicles or it will lead to transfer case (transmission) issues down the road. You cannot just replace the damaged tire. Dodge needs to send out a recall to inspect the valve stem retaining nut on vehicle with tpm systems and replace with a stainless steel nut. If the tpm is removed you will have an annoying light on in the dash complaining about a tire sensor issue. Anyone else that has this same issue should file it with ntsb immediately.

Wheel problem #11

My Nitro has engine light on , my tire sensor shows that I don't have any tire on the right side of the car , airbag light on . Very scary to drive my vehicle with the airbag light on . This car has been giving me problems since day one. Window panel don't work , plastic parts inside car break . Air conditioner and heater don't work . Car turns off by itself . Read thousands of complaint online about this car and nothing has been done . 2007 Nitro should be band it's a very dangerous vehicle .

Wheel problem #12

Traveling on 3 lane highway at 65 mph with 2 young granddaughters in car right front valve stem blew out causing car to veer to right. Upon inspection by mechanic 2 more valve stems had cracked nuts. Had to replace all stems, 1 sensor and 1 tire. Dealership refuses to accept responsibility even tho their tech admits there is a design flaw in the stem. I called schrader electronics (the manf. ) they also admit there is a design flaw but because it is eom product I must deal with Chrysler. They also refuse to accept any responsibility. This is a very dangerous problem that most people are not even aware of. Why hasn,t your agency addressed this problem to date? it has cost me nearly $400. 00 in unreimbursed repairs.

Wheel problem #13

Went on a trip about 300 miles away from home. When we got there the next day my rear passenger tire was low. Every day sense then I have had to put air in my tire. Took it to get it looked at and my rim had cracked on the inside they said I must have it a pot hole on the trip. I how ever was the only one driving the Nitro the whole time and nothing was ever hit. This isn't the first time I have had problems with theses rims every winter I have to get them cleaned b/c they erode and cause leakage.

Wheel problem #14

Tire valve stems are weak and break off easily. This could cause rapid loss of tire air pressure while driving.

Wheel problem #15

The gas tank overflows when filling. The auto shutoff on the gas tank is faulty, this is a problem with the same year Jeep libertys with the same tank. The 20" chrome wheels flake and corrode even when kept clean and out of the elements. This must be fixed!.
