Front left side door handle broke as I opened the door to exit my vehicle.
The front left interior door handle broke as I was trying the exit the vehicle. It appears that the cable and handle separated, leaving no way for me to open the door. This is extremely alarming to me because in case of emergency, I will not be able to exit the vehicle in a timely manner.
I went to grab my door handle with 2 fingers and the handle just snapped preventing me from exiting my vehicle. In the event of an emergency I fear that I am unable to exit my vehicle due to this faulty handle that has been manufactured for this vehicle. This is just one of many issues this vehicle has in addition to the 7 or 8 recalls for issues that have already been acknowledged. This whole vehicle should be recalled! almost every plastic part on this vehicle has broken off, cracked, or malfunctioned.
My girlfriend who is far from strong goes to get out and the door handle snaps. Okay so not only is this a hazard because the driver can't get out but I am also very upset. I then take the back door handle off and replace the front so that way I feel better about letting her drive the car. A few months go by and the same thing happens but to me, I am very concerned with the safety of this. How could a company expect you to pay about 300$ to fix a door when it is a safety hazard and faulty craftsmanship? I cannot afford that. Now just this last August my CO worker went to get out of the passenger door and it snapped on him. So now no one can get out of the car. No one can ride in the passenger side either because he window will not roll down. So now in order to get out of my car I have to roll the window down open door from the outside and then roll my window up. What happens if I cant get my window down and I need out? or my girlfriend? life and death is serious.
Both interior door handles broke within a month of each other. Cannot get out of car on either side!!!!!.

Went to open front vehicle door when the door handle broke in February 2012. Now, October 2013 the passenger front and rare doors broke days apart.
With normal usage by two responsible adults, and no children, the front drivers side door handle made of plastic, broke as my husband was trying to exit the vehicle. We bought this vehicle new and have had reasonable service out of the vehicle, there are how ever way to many plastic parts that have broken through no fault of our own. If the power should go out on the vehicle where the window would not go down we would be trapped in the vehicle, and heaven forbid a fire should break out. It is a life threatening problem and should be covered under your recall program an refitted with handles that will not break with normal usage. We have owned Dodges for years and have never had the problems that we have experienced with this vehicle. . .
This vehicle has had many issues. The brake pedal becomes hard to push with little braking effect then will suddenly loosen up and apply hard brakes. The seat belts act up. The door handles on the inside break while driving down the road so you cannot get out from inside. The engine revs and hesitates intermittently. The cruise control fails. There are numerous blind spots. The vehicle is not stable on the highway. It is sometimes slow to start. The window controls are in a bad location. There is only one key cylinder to unlock the doors with a key.
