Dashboard Crack problems of the 1997 Dodge Ram 1500

The contact owns a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the dashboard was severely cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

The entire dash panel has cracked and shattered. The entire top portion of the dash panel is missing, exposing the gauges and wires. The bezel around the gauges and cup holder is cracked. The remaining part of the dash panel is loose and vibrates, making noises during travel. Dash continues to crack and fall apart during travel.

The dash board on my 97 Dodge ram has cracked in several places. One major concern is the dash cracked over the air bag, I can see electrical components inside the dash area. Dashboard cracking and falling apart.

Dash board is all cracked and broken apart. With every bump in the road the dash shakes bad and worsens from the lack of no support holding it in place. With the a/c, heat, or defroster blowing out the vents plastic also blows out. Trying to clean out my eye when driving is tough. Just waiting for the day I hit a bump and the dash falls to my feet. Body would be the paint on roof and hood, discoloring and peeling off.

I have a 1997 Dodge 1500. My dash started cracking, which appears to be stress cracks. Since then my windshield has starting cracking as well. They both have not stopped cracking.

The dash on the pick up has cracked in several areas. It is my understanding that it may collapse in the near future.

When I got the truck there were minor cracks in the dash nothing to noticeable and I don't use armor all or any silicone based product on it and the cracks have worsened mainly on the driverside and on the passengerside the dash is cracking over the glove compartment and the windows are 5% tinted and a window shade is always used day or night put I've read up on the problem and its on all models 94 and up and it makes no sense to buy a new one from the dealer when the same thing is going to happen with the poor quality of materials used to make.

Dash cracked and started to fall inside, large pieces fell on floor. I hard to pay 3 hours of labor plus the price of the new dash board.

I have a Dodge Ram 1500, recently I discovered that my dashboard was cracking into sections about a-half foot each or more. There is also a gaping hole at the VIN number display area, that allows me to see down in the inside of the dash. I want to know why this is happening?.

My research on the internet and research by local tv (wkmg) indicate that this is happening all over- every dash on a Dodge pickup will crack and fall apart. This creates a safety hazard with the wiring. Dodge refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem.

Purchased a used 1997 Dodge ram in 2001. The dashboard began to crack. Now, there I was a large hole when part of the dashboard broke off, and another crack was beginning to form. When I asked the dealer and the manufacturer about the problem I was told that this item was not covered under warranty and there was no recall on this item either. I researched prices on a replacement dashboard, and they were very expensive, time consuming, and labor intensive project. This dashboard should last more than four years , a four year old dashboard should not be falling apart. There was definitely a problem with this Dodge line of equipment. Note: I would not have been aware of this widespread problem if it were not for channel 6 news.

My dash is cracking all over around VIN number from the defrost vents. I keep my truck in the garage and in the last 2 years it has cracked more and more and for two yrs I have not driven it more than 1 thousand miles cause I am not home to drive it. Also the column on the sides of the windshield I can not see around them I have almost hit several people and cars this is a blind spot right in front of me I don't know if it is because of the seat and wear I sit I think this column is to fat and obstructs my view.
