Three problems related to gasoline engine have been reported for the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Oil pan was replaced due to rust. Covered by warranty, with $100 deductible. Apparently Chrysler can't build a pan that will last a full five years. Also, on third set of brakes at 81k miles. Apparently, as soon as I traded my Toyota, I started driving like an old lady. Either that, or the brakes on the truck are substandard. Emergency brake handle broke in less than 1 year. Etc. . . . . . . . . .
Heater stopped working. Replaced thermostat. One week later to leave truck would not start. Had to have it towded. Received a call from mechanic said it was hydrolocked. Received call frm mechanic today 1-27 said the head was split. Has to be replaced. This truck is a 2002 with approx. 45000 miles. This has been the worst vehicle we have ever owned. . . . I will tell everyone do not buy a Dodge of any type. . . .
