Ignition problems of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge ram. The contact stated that the gear shifter would lock into any gear. Also, the key was able to be removed from the ignition key althought the vehicle was not in park. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was unknown. Pam.

Occasionally, the vehicle could not be shifted into park, causing the vehicle to accelerate backward. The dealer was notified of the issue who advised that there were no recalls for the vehicle.
