My 2004 Dodge ram would intermittently drop the cruise control when I hit the drivers side down button. I took it to the dealer several times and was told it wasn't throwing a code and they didn't know what was causing the issue. Several months ago, after parking my vehicle in the garage, I woke up to discover the drivers door had caught fire. It sure looked to me that it started on the circuit board inside the door. The vehicle was totaled.
: the contact stated the vehicle's cruise control would not maintain speeds and would fluctuate up or down by 6 mph. The service dealer stated this was a normal issue with these vehicles and they could not fix the issue.
The cruise control shuts off intermittently when the power windows are activated. The vehicle was brought to Dodge of burnsville, where the problem was not duplicated by the mechanic. I can now induce this problem consistantly by activating the power windows.
Cruise control will shut off if I use 2 or more of the power windows at the same time. Cc will also shut completely off when you hit the brakes, not just disengage. Took to local dealer and they said there isn't a fix for the problem but they also stated Dodge is aware of the problem. This happened once with the window switch problem while I was passing a slow vehicle with my cruise on. I rolled up 2 windows and the cruise shut off during the pass.
