Four problems related to brake disc rotor have been reported for the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Front rotors requiring refacing at 17,000 miles. Rotors requiring refacing at 22,000 miles. Rotors requiring refacing/replacement at 33,000 miles.
Truck was bought new with 42 miles and at 9k the brake rotors were replaced because of excessive wear. Again at 14k miles the brakes needed to be replaced, but this time the dealer refused to pay. The rotors only had 5k miles and 3 months. I spoke with chrylser, the general manager of the dealership, and the service manager and they are telling me this is normal wear and tear. I told them this was unacceptable that rotors were wearing out so quickly. I have made 3 attempts to fix the problem and it is still not fixed. I am comtemplating the next step in the repair process. Hopefully, the NHTSA can be of some assistance.
Brake rotor warping, front and rear-front replaced at approx 15000 miles and both front and rear replaced at 29000 miles.
Have 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab with factory installed 20" chrome wheels. Brakes have gone out twice in 23,000 miles, at 13,000 and now again at 23,000. Dealer refuses to accept any manufacturer defect.
