This has been a issue going on several months . I can be driving down the road on any giving day , road conditions wet or dry . I was driving 57 mph and vehicle in front of me hit the brakes ,causing me to hit mine as of sudden , but instead of stopping the brake pedal shifts toward the gas pedal causing me to brake and hit the gas at the same time. No I didn't wreck but came close as I corrected it very quick. This could have xausd me to run into on coming traffic and seriously caused fatal injuries or death. Thank god it wasn't raining . Vehicle hasn't been inspected because I don't have the money to have it inspected . The brake pedal I checked and you can take your hand and the pedal will go side to side over the gas pedal . There was no warning light or check engine light for this issue.
Truck making a whooping sound when driving and front tires wobbling and front suspension sloppy. Could be hub assembly, ball joints etc which can cause wheel to detach. All recalls for fwd and awd 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 but not for 4wd. My truck has every recall problem listed on the recall list for fwd and awd vehicles why weren't same recalls put out for the 4wdodels? seatbelt won't latch, steering and front suspension a mess and electrical door locks don't work nor car alarm system.
Ignition key switch - available for inspection the key can be accidently turned back to the accessory position while driving, resulting in loss of steering and power. This has happened twice while driving. The 2nd occurrence I was able to immediately turn the key forward to the run position and regain steering / power to the vehicle. I can reproduce the issue at will, though it has not been brought to a dealer or independent service center to be confirmed. This issue has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance representatives.

Heat blend doors are not functioning and stuck on vent. Got heat but not at defroster or floor. As a resident in ohio and it being winter there is no way to defrost windows in inclamate weather. Was using the defroster then tried to swith it to foor as it was no longer neccesary to be using the defroster only to have the system get stuck on the vent position. I belive the problem to be the mode 1 door is broken as it is, as well as the other4 doors in the heater box all made of plastic and accuator motors that have too much torque. These doors should be made out of steel and breakage would not occure and Dodge should recall the vehickles to replace the defective parts at no cost to the vehicle owners. This could lead to death under the right conditions.
Dodge is aware of this issue. They have updated the part and there are many customer paid repairs. The control box for the heating and a/c system is defective and breaks at the blend door. When this happens, the blend door no longer works and it disables the defroster and a/c. On cool or cold days, the windshield can suddenly fog up and there is no way to clear the view as air does not blow in that direction. On hot days, the system can not push air out enough to keep the driver from excessive heat. The part number is 68004226ac. This part has been supersession chain of about 4 other numbers as Dodge corrected design flaws over the years. I would also note that because this involved a/c and heating, many people do not notify NHTSA of the concern, but it is very well documented and known. It is a very common problem that causes driving issues without being reported.
Driveshaft fell off while driving.
When coming to a stop or turning the engine shuts off. No power steering or brakes when this happens. Also shuts of when slowing down to turns. No check engine light and no diagnostic codes. Dealer has had the vehicle for over 2 weeks now. It has died at least 15 times in the last 4 months. I almost hit a vehicle and curbs.
Filler port replacement for 2006 Dodge 1500 not being recalled although 2007/2008 were (please see recall number x49 and x53). Vehicle stalled on low idle and during turns. My Dodge truck stalled while making turn in a busy intersection and almost create an accident. . After researching the web, I found out that it's a common problem and some models are being recalled per x49 and x53.
I had an accident related to the driver's side grab handle. I never usually use it to get into the truck, but decided to use it on June 7th, 2017. The truck is hardly ever driven and in very, very good condition. The grab handle was not loose in any way prior to the accident and had never been worked on or replaced. When I grabbed the handle to pull myself into the truck, which was stationary and parked in a driveway, the whole panel ripped right off and sent me falling hard to the asphalt driveway. I fell about 3 feet. By the way, I only weigh about 120 lbs. The fall caused me to break my left hip. I laid in the driveway screaming in excruciating pain and for help until someone found me. An ambulance transported me to a hospital. I had a partial hip replacement due to the hip fracture. Upon inspection, it looked like the panel/grab handle was secured into the body of the truck by plastic discs and clips! I was shocked and assumed something like that would've been secured by a more sturdy material. This accident has been physically and financially devastating for me.
Turn signal malfunction turn left signal on right signal flashes same for right side and also switches sides instanttaniously both will flash. Dealer says only the 3500 vehicle has aa recall for up to 150,000 miles same turn signal used in all Dodge trks? in motion sitting at light or stop to make turn and sitting still has been going on since may 2016.

The truck has had intermittent problems with the front end, assembly on right and left side. The truck was repaired by the shop and still not able to perform correctly. Firestone investigated the truck after it was fixed with me taking it back to the shop to get re-fixed. Now after it has been fixed again, the axle area is still popping and I don't know if it is fixed or not. I am tired of spending my money on it. I want to blame the shop but I think it is a manufacturer error. Also, with these front end issues. The front end hit a dip in the road at about 30-35--no dip warning and locked up the front end. I spent nearly $1000 replacing brakes, calipers, and rotors. Not to mention the 300-500 replacing front end parts on this truck.
I was on my way home with my children in my truck cruising along at about 55 mph when out of nowhere the steering wheel started wobbling very horribly. So, I stopped in a gas station parking lot that was out by the interstate and called a few people and tried to take a look at it. The rf wheel was extremely hot but couldn't find anything else wrong with it. If I got above 50 mph the wobble got bad but if I kept it around 45mph, it was not as bad and was able to drive home. Had it looked at and nobody could seem to find the issue. We tried changing the brakes on it from the caliper down to the brake pads but it didn't fix the issue. I don't hardly drive it now due to not knowing if it is going to do it and when something bad is going to happen. Especially if I have my 4 children in the truck with me.
I was on my way to work when I crashed into a dump truck and my car was pretty much totalled the accident was horrible and the air bag did not deployed. I constantly suffer back pain and although I was told by the hospital to get the treatment I lost my job due to the pain I get plus I did not have any transportation. And now I see that there is a recall for this vehicle for the air bag.
Called to set an appointment to have the p80 / nhtsa14v-795 recall repaired done on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Set to drop off my vehicle at 8:30 am on 4/1/2015 at chris nikel Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep (2920 n aspen Ave broken arrow, ok 74012 918-355-5000). I left my truck with them and I called back this afternoon to check the status on it. They stated that they would need it for another 3 days to complete the work. I had an appointment with a 1 day promise and now its a 3-4 day job. Classic way of getting out from doing the job. I am a single father that cannot go 4 days without my truck. Very unprofessional and deceptive business practices. Me and my kids safety remains at risk because the recalls don't produce enough revenue for the dealership to remain a priority.
The rear drive shaft fall out of the truck while I was driving. I was going about 45-50 and it just fell out. A part like that could not fall out of a truck. I bought the truck in April of 2014. Need assistance in getting this matter resolved.
I was traveling at approximately 60 mph when the rear axle of my 2006 Ram 1500 locked up causing the vehicle to go into a skid, then released. After disassembling the rear axle, it was determined that the pinion nut had backed off causing the pinion bearings to fail and the pinion shaft to twist and fail due to the excessive movement of the pinion.
Dash heat and air vent deflectors inside the dash brake and do not work proper. Dealership knows what the ongoing problem is but they want 12 to 15 hundred to fix it.
Turning left or right and sometimes backing up, the truck constantly squeaks. I had the hubs replaced recently as the mechanic said that was the problem but it wasn't. I don't want something to fall out from under the truck or lock up. I was at at local lowe's recently and a woman was backing her Dodge truck to load lumber and it was making the same noises as mine.
The ac recirculation door is broken within the fan chamber causing restricted air floe to heat the interior or to cool bought used this year and dealer sold with issue even though it is a known issue' afrais to run heat or ac as it may overheat the fan motor causing a fire.
My Dodge truck is becoming unsafe to drive. I bought new tires, had alingments for my steering done, balance of tires, rotation of tires, new brakes, new shocks, and now I have to take it to the dealer to get a known "concern" taken care of and pay out of my pocket once again. I have spent over $2,500 dollars of my own money trying to fix a known "concern" that Chrysler knows about. Now I have to take it to the dealer and pay $70. 00 just to get it looked at, and then pay for whatever fix Chrysler has to do. Why is this happening and not getting fixed?.
Wire harness in rear driver side door was found completely severed inside boot from frame to door. Effects window, door locks, dome light operation, and speaker. Presence of voltage can cause fire if aching occurs.
Can you tell me if there is a safety recall for the recir ac/heat flapper. Mine broke and blocked the ac from blowing. . . Also can you tell me if there is any recalls that my truck is eligable for. Dodge rams have a big rust problem. Right over the wheels on both sides of the truck (wheel wells) they rust horribly because of them making a lip on the inside that holds water and debrit and erode the wheel well which eventually breaks apart. This is a problem with all Dodge trucks from 2003- 2008. There are hundreds of these incidents reported. The cost to repair is horrible for a person to pay also. This is a factory defect.
We have (2) 2006 Dodge rams and both of them have a broken a/c heater flapper. When the heater or a/c is on most of the aie vents outside.
When turning on the left turn signal the right one comes on. Also sometimes when activating turn signals the wipers will come on as well as the window wash/spray. To correct the problem I have to hit the steering column and it will correct. I have spoken with other ram owners who have had the same experience.
Blend door on the hvac system has failed. Unable to get heat up to the windshield for proper defrost/defogging. Dealership states that this is an ongoing issue for the 2006 Ram 1500 and that the 2007 Ram 1500 featured a design change that corrected this issue.
A recall is definitely in order here for the cabin air blend door breaking, 2006 through 2002 models have had a large number of complaints filed and in 2006 had the most filed yet in 2007 zero complaints filed for this problem , let me explain why. I contacted daimler Chrysler filed a complaint and got nowhere, they just don't care about their bad design, or stand behind their product!! I will never buy a product from them again. The air box has an opening with one tab protruding out so when the blend door closes it stops at the tab, well the tab isn't strong enough to receive the impact of the door slamming it and breaks off thus jamming closed or falling off, the engineers at delmar Chrysler figured this out and engendered a new box with two tabs so it wont break yet the service dept at the dealers keep replacing the doors and not the entire box (because it's a bigger more expensive job) and that's why some people have had it fixed several times, because they are not fixing it correctly so in turn you then are out of warranty and now it cost the consumer to fix this expensive poorly engineered box that they know is a design flaw. Sad, very sad. Daimler Chrysler put this newly designed box in their 2007 and newer models and have not one complaint, so why wont they recall these bad design boxes and broken blend doors (which are the number one biggest problem with the 2006 trucks) and put their newly engineered boxes-blend doors in the trucks at their expense not the consumer, delmer Chrysler knows they have a bad design and still wont own up to it, we the consumer need to flood their phones until they fix this poorly engineered very expensive problem that they created until they recall it. This problem is a safety issue because you cannot control where the air flow is going like the windshield for visibility in foggy or snowy conditions,forced to pul over cant see, thank you in advance for taking the time and effort putting pressure on them to correct their mistake.
The rear differential/pinion seal assembly has gone out 7+ times since March of 2009. It has chattered, hummed, it has leaked and whined.
Suspension/brakes: front end wheel bearing vibration/rubbing noise. Replaced several sets of worn tires after spending $189. 00 through firestone for lifetime alignments/tire balance/rotations the constant rubbing vibration noise have not alleviated. Brake rotors warped & replaced because of the issue with the pitman arm & front wheel bearings. Chrysler recall campaigns f05, g02, n62, NHTSA campaign 13v528000, 10e040000, 10e013000, 07v038000, 06v038000. Front wheel bearings still noisy, front end vibration still present & alignments constantly necessary. Service bulletins 08-004, 41, & 1900805 related to suspension steering part of this issue. Electrical: ignition key locking up & unable to turn the key to start the vehicle. Had to forcibly turn or “wiggle” the steering wheel, which is locked, in order to get the key to turn. Numerous occasions had to leave the vehicle & return in the future to attempt to turn the ignition key. Turn signal (service bulletin 08-002-12) flashes & intermittent wipers operate incorrectly. Sudden flashing back & forth of signals has almost caused car crashes on numerous occasions. Intermittent wipers stop suddenly at mid windshield point obstructing view. Both operated from the same left handle. Cruise control surges constantly when engaged. Numerous occasions surged suddenly on a hill or bridge almost causing loss of control. Tachometer shows anywhere from 0 to 250 rpm when stopped & has caused stalling of the engine. Operating the vehicle at speed (55mpm for instance), it only shows 1000rpm. During the period of ownership had to replace 3 batteries. This seems excessive for the age of the vehicle. Therefore, considering all the electrical related issues there must be a defect since all of these problems still exist. Service bulletin 5015 related to electrical systems are also parts of this issue.
Brakes pressure increases while driving dealer replace 4 times front 2 times rear still brakes fail also tie rods fall off or go bad 2 time all under 18000 miles also there was other problems with front end hubs ,ect.
