I was coming out of the hills after a day of hunting and as I made it back to town luckly going slowly I turned the corner and my driver side tie rod end broke. Leaving my truck stranded in a small town about 5 miles from my camp. Took my truck to the local shop the next day cause this happend on a Sunday and got it fixed. The mecanic at the local shop told me this was a recalled part. So after returning home from my hunting trip I looked it up and it is a recalled part on many Dodge vehicles. Why was I not notified? if this happend at 65 miles an hour my 4 kids probley wouldent have a father today. I have a recite for the work done. Not only do I want my money back and compensation for my time I also would like to be notified of any ohter recalls. This Dodge of mine is a pavement pounder. It drives freeways only most of the year and only a couple weeks out of the year driives moutain roads during hunting season to get me to and from my locations to get out and hike behind closed gates. It hauls nothing other than a few animals and a small 19 ft travel trailer during hunting season.

I purchased this vehicle from a used car dealer in clanton, alabama in April 2014. I was driving to my mom's, who lives in mississippi when I came upon a bridge on the interstate while passing a 18 wheeler. When entering the bridge there was a small bump up and when the front wheels of the truck hit the bump the front of the truck started bouncing (death bounce or roll) uncontrollable. I had to cut off the 18 wheeler that I was passing and pulled to the side of the interstate and come to a complete stop for it to stop. It happened 4 more times before I got to my destination and it has happened on numerous occasions since and causing me to almost wreck each time. This is a very dangerous problem with this vehicle. You have no control over the steering while it is doing this it just bounces you all over the road. I have talked to a mechanic and he said it was the entire front end of all Dodge trucks that was causing this problem and had to be replaced. I wish to have an investigation on this matter, please. With only 82k miles on this truck the entire frt end should not be bad!! this problem, I was told by the mechanic was a defect from factory and should have been a recall on the entire frt suspension not just the tie rod, because the tie rod is not correcting the death bounce/roll problem with this trucks. I have a young son and a grand baby who has to ride in this vehicle and I do not feel safe driving this truck with my self in it. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much.
I have experienced the Dodge death wobble, a violent shaking, a sudden pulling to the left, then a sudden sharp pulling to the right, with not being able to control by steering, all the while the steering wheel is still violently shaking and with hard braking my vehicle came to a stop with two wheels off of the road in the ditch. I took the pickup in to be checked right away with no real signs of why and decided to replace two of the tie rod ends. The vehicle drove ok for a short time and the death wobble started again, this time not as bad, but very often, like at least 100 times in the last month. As I have spent many hours researching this problem, it seams that 1,000's and 1000's of Dodge 2500 series pickup have this problem which as lead to tie rods breaking . I have not heard of any deaths yet, but does someone have to die before this becomes a safty recall.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that she attempted to have the vehicle repaired under NHTSA campaign number:13v528000 (steering:linkages:tie rod) but was made aware that parts were not available and the repairs were unable to be performed for the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced the failure.
While backing up, the ball on the front left tie rod end completely disengaged, leaving no control of the wheel assembly. Upon inspection, both front tie rod ends exhibited looseness in the ball joints.
I was traveling 50 to 55 mph my vehicle veered to the left out of control. I attempted corrective steering with no response from the steering. I hit the guardrail direct with the front of the vehicle causing substantial damage. On 1/2/2014 I went and looked at my truck and noticed that part of the steering knuckle was broke off from the center of the hole for the tie rod and missing. The tie rod shaft was not bent indicating the steering knuckle may have failed.
While traveling on interstate at ~ 65 mph, I hit a series of bumps that caused the front suspension to shake violently. This only subsided after slowing to < 35 mph and (fortunately) avoiding a crash. After doing some research, this is consistent with "death wobble". I am amazed that there is not a recall regarding this issue. I had new ball joints and tie rod ends installed ~ 6 months ago.

The front right hand tie rod end fell off the tie rod ball joint as I was driving no apart sign of lose. Was just inspected by Dodge dealer less than 1000 miles no report at that time of tie rods being bad.

Had vehicle aligned due to the front end bouncing. Tie rod was replaced and vehicle had a vibration and popping noise from the front end after that. Today I took it to the shop and they said the wheel bearing is worn beyond safe conditions. My VIN did not fall under the current recall but I seem to be having the same problem with my vehicle and my family has been put at risk with this vehicle problem. I have new parts being put on today which is going will be paid out of pocket again. I have driven with this vibration for some time now not even aware that it could possibly be under a recall. A fault this serious could cause death and injury to my family and someone else's.
2006 Dodge ram with 38,000 miles the outer tie rod ends were extremely worn to a point where separation was possible.

Bought 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 new from metro Dodge in ottawa. Have had numerous front end troubles. Brakes,3sets of front shocks, wheel bearings, outer tie rod ends replaced once at 22000km`s. Tie rod ends on streeing are defective again. Dodge wants to inspect & charge for outer rie rod ends after 42000kms on second set. Checking used 2006,2007 & 2008 in Dodge dealer lots outer tie rods have been replaced on trucks in lot. I feel Dodge is covering up a defective design & part troubles on all 3 years. Metro Dodge told me to never bring my truck back for service. The service manager denies that these years of trucks have defective front end parts & design. Please investigate before a major collision with this vehicle. Thank you, steve moore.
