1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2018

In 2018,yr 2012 Dodge ram truck, was recalled for the t79 recall. After recall was installed, now truck stalls-goes dead when brake pushed & dies in reverse. After research, it's a major issue w/the 1500's yet there hasnt been a recall. This is a very dangerous situation that Dodge has put the owners in. So when I brake for anything on a hwy, it goes dead! the dealer checks for an error code & yet there is no error code so they cant do anything about it-dependent on computers versus hands on mechanics. Dealer suggested to leave my truck & they'll drive it until it happens which is random. It's ridiculous that mechanics have no real hands-on mechanical ability & depend on computers to provide error codes. After the t79 recall was done, was it required to upgrade/update or refresh the computer system afterwards? dealer said the recall did not call for an computer update as Dodge did not require it. Per internet forums, youtube, & internet, the stalling is a major issue! guess I have to take chances w/this issue of stalls/dying on hwy travel-dangerous! also, the steering wheel has something loose inside of it. It sounds like the airbag has come loose & is moving when wheel turned. Any recalls or word on this? again the dealer plugs in his computer & doesn't see anything wrong even though you can hear it. Dodge needs to be accountable & responsible for all these mistakes-esp since this is a safety issue! also, on the 1st day of purchasing my truck, the pass airbag light remained on. Dealer kept new truck for 6 wks to attempt resolution & ended up contacting Dodge engineering & found out the colored wires were crossed - the colors were interchanged at the factory! amazing & no recall was done. It's impossible to speak w/cust serv at Dodge ram- someone that is knowledgeable.

4 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/29/2016

For the past month now my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 hemi has stalled out on me 4 times. It has happened both while shifting from reverse to drive, slowing down to stop at a stop sign, and just sitting in drive in a parking garage lot. Truck has 142000 miles on it but this stalling issue has happened before around 30k. I can put the truck back in neutral or park and start it back up but there's a knock every time now. It is starting to worry me that the truck may stall out on the freeway. I do notice that it occurs whenever the rpm get low around 500-700 rpm. The truck then bogs down and stalls whenever I shift from reverse to drive on the few occasions that it happened. When I was pulling into a parking spot or slowing down to stop at a stop sign I also noticed the rpm drop to stall the truck.

6 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2013

On a daily basis the engine on my 09 Dodge ram crew cab will die at least 3-4 times a day while driving around 20-30 mph. I have taken my truck to my local dealership 5 times to get the issue fixed. They have replaced the computer 3 times. The issue still happens on a daily occurrence. I have duplicated the issue multiple times to the service agent, but magically when they have my truck for two weeks at a time the vehicle stalling does not occur and they cannot "recreate" the issue. I have had several close accidents due to this issue and something needs to be done. This issue does not pull any codes when hooked up and has been diagnosed by the dealership as a "phantom" problem. This is a serious issue that needs to be fixed before my family gets seriously injured!!.

8 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2009

Truck has left me stranded multiple times by completely losing power electrical and engine. Dealer claims to have "replaced" computer but Chrysler corp confirms dealer just "reflashed" computer. Multiple recalls have occurred and truck was brought into dealer but I know the old parts remain in place! I cannot trust this dealer to do anything they claim to do, proven by comparing the written work order with the records at chysler corporate. We are afraid to drive this vehicle, my wife will not step foot on it and as I am an amputee every time I get stranded(3 times so far) I cannot walk to get help. So I am at the mercy of available cell phone signal or just pray. The dealer had continually stalled us on repairing these problems up until the warranty ran out and then all of a sudden they figured out the "actual" problem and could now fix it for a few thousand!! dollars. Please help us- we have been fighting for some kind of justice for 6 years! truck has only 24000 total, actual scary miles on it. Paid cash of approx $50,000 and are so hurt and disgusted with our purchase but most outraged by the treatment and lack of normal human concern for our safety or our lives for that matter. Last remark from dealer owner to "not my problem tough s. . T" this vehicle should become chryslet corps problem and we want the timely return of our money ASAP please please please . This is a nightmare and has caused us both serious health issues.
