Engine problems of the 1999 Dodge Ram 2500

Three problems related to engine have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2004

While driving 65 mph the oil pressure dropped to zero and the engine seized without warning. The dealer states the oil intake was clogged, which caused low oil pressure in the engine. Please provide additional information.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2004

Block #53 on the 1999 Dodge 2500 ram has a crack. First noticed last year, and crack is larger now and antifreeze pours out.

3 Engine problem

Failure Date: 08/20/1999

All the brake components except the master cylinder were replaced 7 times starting at 7,000 miles because they either locked up or didn't function at times. An accident occurred due to this failure. Also, automatic transmission was replaced/rebuilt 8 times because it blew out, slipped, or dropped down from o/d to regular gear, which started at 5,000/20,000 miles finally, the engine head was replaced twice because it cracked on both sides, which started at 77,000-90,000 miles.
