Tl- the contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph at night, she heard an unusual noise from the rear end of the vehicle and soon after, she felt a tightening and immediately, the entire rear end locked up. The contact came out to check, and found the drive shaft on the ground. There was no warning indicator. The contact called for help and with the help of a friend, the vehicle was towed to the side and left overnight. The next day, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the column shift assembly was disassembled. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired . The failure mileage was 345,000. The VIN was not provided. Fe.
