Three problems related to steering wheel have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Steering has a considerable amount of play when in center position. The truck drifts from left to right making it hard and laborious to control. The dealership and Chrysler motors have had many chances to solve this issue but instead pass the problem back to me for resolution. (dot number: vnw81xl060 tiresize: 265/75r16).
When brakes are applied, the steering wheel locks up, several repair attempts however vehicle continues to experience lock up. Yh.
Steering column is loose. This causes the vehicle to veer out of control suddenly without warning, and the shifter does not slide into the gear properly. Dealer has been contacted.
