Two problems related to steering gear box sector shaft have been reported for the 2000 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle steering wheel had to be turned 3/4 of a full turn from center before the wheels would move.
While driving 5-10mph, power steering pump and shaft broke off, took vehicle to dealer and dealer indicated that shaft sector broke also. Cosnumer stated the second power steering pump failed immediately.
