Brake line broke while driving. Had mechanic examine the vehicle and states that entire line end to end is rotted out.

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. While pulling out of the driveway with a trailer in tow, the brake light illuminated. The contact depressed the brakes all the way to the floor in order to stop the vehicle. Brake fluid began to leak. The contact, who is a mechanic, inspected the vehicle and noticed that the rear and front brake line was rusted and the hitch failed. The brake lines were replaced. The dealer stated that the VIN was not included in hitch recall number 872. The speed was unknown. The current mileage was 130,000 and failure mileage was 129,000. 3 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2007

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. While approaching a stop sign at 55 mph the brakes failed. The contact shifted the vehicle into a lower gear and depressed the parking brake. The contact will replace the right front brake line. The current and failure mileages were 108,000. The consumer states the brake was manufactured or installed in the wrong way. It wore through crimped metal and rubbed hoses. The vehicle has since been repaired and the consumer has the old part. Update 05/04/tr.
