Two problems related to diesel engine have been reported for the 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
At approximately 56,000 miles I had a 216 vehicle engine code come up. This showed a failure in the injection pump. I have approximately 79,000 miles on the vehicle and the code has once again come up. I went to the dealer and they see "everything" is ok and can't figure out why the light is coming on. The vehicle is now beginning to suge during driving, a sign of not enough fuel being delivered to the engine. Consumer states that the crankcase oil fumes enter the cab at idle or slow speed when the air conditioner is set on outside air settings, when the air conditioner is set on recirculated or cab air only, this condition does not happen.
