Engine problems of the 2003 Dodge Ram 2500

Two problems related to engine have been reported for the 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2010

The contact owns a 2003 Dodge 2500. The contact stated whenever he is driving at any speed the vehicle goes to idle and stops in the middle of the road. The vehicle was pulled off to the side of the road turned off and on and in a few seconds the engine restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated they would repair the failure for $1000. The Dodge manufacturer was called and they stated there was no failure and no recall for this problem. 2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2004

The fly wheel and the clutch assembly separated and blew off, while driving between 30-40 mph. When this occurred, a part of the clutch assembly became lodged in the floor on the driver's side, and almost severed the driver's foot. Also, this failure destroyed the engine block, the entire clutch assembly, bell housing and the transmission. A factory district rep,. Came out to inspect the vehicle, but didn't provide a sensible reason for what caused the failure.
