Three problems related to front suspension wheel bearing have been reported for the 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph over a bump in the road the steering wheel began to shake violently. The contact described the failure as the death wobble. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the upper and lower ball joints, the axle joints, and tie rod ends were replaced. The contact also replaced the wheel bearings. The failure continued to occur after the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. During a front end alignment, the dealer stated that the wheel bearings were worn out. There were no recalls for the failure and the warranty was not valid. Front wheel bearing is bad. Same issue as the NHTSA campaign number is 07v-038 (or 07v038000 except my truck is a 2005 Dodge 2500 diesel 4x4 slt.
