The frame has rusted completely through on both driver and passenger sides. The integrity of the frame is severely compromised and may collapse at anytime. This type of failure could be absolutely catastrophic to everyone who may be involved. It has not been confirmed by a dealer, nor has it been inspected by any others yet. It but was inspected by a ase-certified mechanic and confirmed. I am a disabled veteran, and I am not even sure how to move the truck with its condition for further inspection. The truck is currently available for inspection at my residence. I purchased the truck in July, 2019. I was unaware of the extent of the rust until this past year. I noticed a small hole in the frame, and currently, the frame looks to be missing 20% of its circumference.
The manifold bolts rusted away which caused the manifolds to warp. I repaired the truck in 2015 and it has happened again in 2022.
Tipm is defective causing the air compressor not to engage. How do I know the airbags will work?.
Climate control switch does not work properly. Heat will not work on floor setting.
I was driving along the interstate around 65mph and hit a small bump in the road and all of a sudden my vehicle started wobbling all over the place. Had my wife and 5 month old baby in the car and finally was able to pull off the side of the road, but while doing that almost sideswiped a few vehicles and semi truck. I believe I was lucky with this. I have heard there is other people who has similar incidents to mine.
I went to the dealer for a state inspection. I was told that the front end steering parts needed to be replaced as it wasn't strong enough for the truck. I asked if it was recalled as it wasn't strong enough. They said no, and the only way they could correct with their parts was replace the whole system. (they would have gotten a part from a outside parts house to replace the one bad part). I believed them and had the whole system replaced for over $1100. It was the replaced system evidently that has been recalled. I have contacted a dealer closer to my winter home for the recall. I have been waiting for over two months for them to contact me that the parts were in. At the original time of me checking I was told the parts probably were not even made yet. Repeated checking is to no avail. I am told they only receive about one part ever two weeks, and they had my info and would call me. The problem could cause a crash! with the winter we have had, and we do plow with this vehicle, it should be a priority. They were contacted January 7th and we are now into March. The time has pasted on when this should be done.
Nov. 2012 I bought my 2007 Dodge ram truck 2500 for $21,000 soon after, we realized it had some front end problems. I took it for a front end alignment the following month - which did not improve the front end steering looseness, vibration and "clunking". I took it into a large, local tire/ front end service business for an evaluation. The first thing they told me is what everyone was telling me, " these Dodge trucks are known for bad front ends". They did however, then tell me that the truck would need almost $1,000 worth of work to make it right. I did not have them do the repairs because I could not afford it, I had been told by so many that this was normal for Dodge trucks and I thought I should get another opinion later. The truck has three open safety recalls on it. I took it to our local Dodge dealership so the service writer could look at the front end (came out to the parking lot and looked at it) she said that it did need steering recall repairs. I asked that parts be ordered for that, plus airbag for the third recall. She said she didn't have any parts, "the manufacturer only sends us a few parts a month so whoever is on the top of the list will get a call when the parts are available". I left my name/number. When I bought the truck it had 64,650 miles and now, three years later only 67,900. I drive it only locally because I don't trust it, the steering is unpredictabe, loose, clunky and has too much play in the wheel. When getting up to 50 mph or so, it vibrates also. I want this truck to be included in the Chrysler/Dodge buy back plan or the class action suite brought by the owner of a 2007 Dodge ram 3500 for the "death shake" at higher speeds. Thank you, cindy smith.
While towing our 27ft montana fifth wheel, I crossed over a cattle guard and got a very violent vibration in the steering wheel. I had to come to a stop to make quit. I found out from my mechanic it's called the Dodge death wobble. Chrysler corp. Will do nothing about it, even though it happens to thousands of people who drive Dodge trucks.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact installed a performance programmer tuner chip in the vehicle, manufactured by superchips. The tuner chip is installed under the dashboard of the vehicle. While driving between 35-65 mph, the clutch begins to flip or stops shifting into other gears. The contact has not reported the failure to the dealer. The current mileage was 19,000 and failure mileage was 11,000.
Within two weeks of purchasing the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 slt reg w/ turbo, (delivery date of 07/12/07) the check engine light came on. The dealership we purchased from said not to worry about it unless it came on permanently. On 07/27/07, took truck in for left speaker issue & check engine, they just cleared the codes for the check engine light. Took back 08/27/07, engine code p254a, cleaned sensor. Called dealer 09/15/07, "check engine' light back on for longer than 3 days, they said not to worry about it as long as the light was not flashing or staying on. Called them 09/27/07, took truck back 10/03/07, check engine light codes p2262, they performed carbon clearing procedure. Took truck back on 10/08/07, they did not make note of check engine code on work order, but they wrote turbo assy. Failure, replaced and cleared code. On 11/30/07, check engine light on again, performed emissions recall and sensor and reprogram ecm. During 12/07 thru 01/08, check engine light still remained on most of the time, but was extremely busy working plowing snow and could not take back until 02/01/08, engine code p1451. They did "flash ecm as per TSB. By this time thoroughly upset with truck, manufacturer, etc. Engine light remained on again 03/08 through 06/08. On 07/03/08 took back again, engine code p2262 and p2000. They performed computer update. Again light on almost from onset of last visit. On 08/19/08, engine light, code p2000, they performed flash update to engine control. Picked up truck on 08/19/08, and check engine light came on 08/21/08. They could not get truck in until today 08/25/08. Truck still there tonight as the code came up that stated they needed to once again clean and they could not get it done today. (note: they did not tell me over the phone what code came up, just that they had to clean the turbo. We, my dad and I and my mom have lost considerable money in lost work time in having to take truck for repair, let alone the inconvenience of it all!.
