The frame has rusted completely through on both driver and passenger sides. The integrity of the frame is severely compromised and may collapse at anytime. This type of failure could be absolutely catastrophic to everyone who may be involved. It has not been confirmed by a dealer, nor has it been inspected by any others yet. It but was inspected by a ase-certified mechanic and confirmed. I am a disabled veteran, and I am not even sure how to move the truck with its condition for further inspection. The truck is currently available for inspection at my residence. I purchased the truck in July, 2019. I was unaware of the extent of the rust until this past year. I noticed a small hole in the frame, and currently, the frame looks to be missing 20% of its circumference.
I was on a on-ramp getting up to hey speed. Hit a little bump where the old and new asphalt join and the rear started to fishtail to the left and started to spin out hot that k-rail then went over it roiling about 30 feet from it. The air bags did not deploy nor did the seat belt lock. It was a bit foggy and the road surface was wet.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that due to a failure of the cooper wiring used in the four doors the doors the door locks would malfunction cauing the door to become unsecured. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer jones Ford wickenburg (555 e wickenburg way, wickenburg, az 85390, (844) 524-1981) where it was diagnosed that the wire harnesses needed to be repaired. In addition the contact stated that while driving at various speeds a popping noise was present coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replace upper and lower ball joints, wheel bearings were replaced and power steering gear box was replaced, pitman arm was replaced steering stabilizer brace installed. But the failure contined to occur. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 178,000.
Body. Rust starting around the top of both rear wheel wells engine ,water leaks from the water pump, not all the time ,but you never know when. Usually after driving interstate for a couple hours.
The passenger track bar mount and shock mount has fractures in the welds to the axle housing. The shock bracket underneath wear the bottom of the passenger shock bolts in is completely broken and the bottom of the shock is just floating with no stability. This is a factory weld and the 2013-2014s have the same issue but are the only ones with an official recall. It's been reported on many previous years and Chrysler/Dodge will not fix it. I am unable to take a picture of the the shock bolt as it is blocked by the track bar mount, but I did get the track bar mount clearly with the major fractures. There are more on the inner side of the passenger axle housing. This creates a major safety issue if it completely fails.
All of a sudden my brakes failed could not steer correctly and I lost control of the truck slamming into an oncoming vehicle. It felt like I was steering to go straight and the steering wheel just turned on its own. Now I have a $2800 bill to pay the body shop and I need to get my steering box replaced. I would like help with that. And most important I need these recalls done once I get my truck out of the body shop. My only request is that when I bring it in to the dealer I would like them to also fix my steering box at no charge.
Traveling on a dirt road, our 2007 2500 Dodge ram hit a three inch stump, (we were only going about 5 m. P. H. ) resulting in bending the differential housing and subsequently releasing all the differential fluid. This caused the front axle to lock up on the highway. The truck skidded to the side of the road. Our 1996 pathfinder navigated the aforementioned road several times and we never had any problems. All of the components that were housed in the front axle had to be replaced. We strongly feel that it is a design error, but Chrysler refused to cover under manufacture warranty, citing driver error. (the truck is less than a year old) if my husband hadn't realized that there was fluid leaking after the 'minor bump', we would have wrecked going 70 m. P. H. On the highway. The Dodge ram is touted as being built 'ram tough' but such a 'minor bump' could have cost us our lives had we not realized what had happened. Chrysler should have a recall.
