Five problems related to wiper have been reported for the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Headlights shut off while driving at random times at night causing complete inability to see on the freeway or back road where there are ditches and things to wreck. Severe safety issue that dealership cannot resolve with usual fixes. Many others have the same complaint about lights going out. This will cause deaths if I'm driving 80 mph on the freeway and suddenly can't see or people can't see me. I've tried everything to fix it with the dealer. It happens while driving at slow speeds and fast speeds and even parked. I've had the tipm replaced, rebuilt the cluster, removed all after market add on, brand new bulbs, checked for codes, repaired wiring shorts. None has fixed the problem.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 13v528000 (steering). The dealer and manufacturer did not know when the parts would be available to repair the vehicle. In addition, the windshield wipers would not operate on the high setting. The dealer reset the computer for the wipers, but the failure recurred. The failure mileage was unknown.
Traveling down the freeway during heavy rain storm and the passenger wiper linkage fell off at the wiper blade rotating joint ,this caused the passenger wiper blade to come into contact with the drivers side wiper blade and caused both to stop working. They became tangled together. I can home and researched it and it seems to be a common problem on many Dodge trucks. Thank the almighty that it happened at 3am ,on my way to work, with barley any traffic. Victor.
The wiper linkage failed for the passenger side wiper causing a loss of window wiping capability on the passenger side. This causes visibility issues even on the driver side. The loose linkage arm could also become stuck and cause a complete loss of window wiping ability.
Windshield wipers intermittantly will not function especially in colder temps under 20 degrees. This causes poor visability when driving in weather conditions and also to force driver to have to stop to clear windshield. The wipers may work sometimes but other times will not work on vehicle start up or will cease to work while driving. This has happened several times over the last 3 months. A recall was issued for 2008/2009 Dodge Ram 2500 for the windshield wiper module which can be susceptible to water intrusion that can result in partial or complete failure to function of the winshield wipers but my VIN number for my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 was not included in that recall. I was told the part could be anywhere from $170 to $2200 dollars to replace not including cost of install and properly diagnosing which module is defective. Once vehicle is warmed up or the weather is warmer or vehicle is parked enclosed in a temperture control environment then the wiper module is unfrozen and will work again. Until you drive out into freezing temperatures. This is extremely dangerous.
