Electronic Stability Control problem #1

Uncontrollable steering or front end wobbling. Aka death wobble, according to my vehicle history there are recalls that are for steering and the description of all those recalls say what could happen which is a loss of steering control resulting in a crash. All the recalls that I know of have been replaced. But I still have incidents where I lose control of steering and in order for it to stop, I have to stop the vehicle. I have had many many close calls, and hoping that this doesn't result in a loss of a vehicle or even death. It's a very big concern to me considering there has been recalls for the steering and front end. It will occur as soon as I hit a bump just right not even at high speed it happens at 35-70 mph no matter if it's flat ground or not. The entire truck shakes and feels like the wheels are bouncing off the ground. At that point being on the freeway having no control of my steering the only option I have it to slam on my breaks, it's a matter of time before something really bad happens.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

Driving at any time any conditions turning or strait roads the ect light comes on. When this happens you loose all control of the vehicle steering and brakes included. The rpms will jump up high then drop so low the truck will die or idle really rough. Rameys can't fix it local service stations can't fix I've almost wrecked several times bc of this I've had a new throttle body installed no fix 150$ then a new bell crank assembly 400$ still no fix I've searched and called everyone who might have an idea Dodge should look into this because it's not a rare thing from what I see online.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

Driving truck down freeway. Hit a bump and whole truck started to shake slowed down and shake went away.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

I'm constantly having electrical & intake/exhaust problems with this vehicle. I've replace the battery 2 times within 2 years and it still cuts off all the time. All inspections and maintenance is current. My mechanic has also constantly worked on u-joints. Please give me a list of all recalls for this vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

While towing a travel trailer, accelerator was applied to allow me to pass some slow semi's. There was no response from the accelerator as I held it down for about 10 seconds. Exhaust brake engaged!! it wasnt even on!! however, I had the cruise control on but not engaged. I quickly engaged the resume feature and used the accelerate function of the cruise control to speed up to avoid an accident. This has happened on multiple occasions but this by far the scariest. Also the exhaust brake engages when not even on at random coasting times when not hauling anything. It is very dangerous to not be able to control a big truck due to these glitches. Also two of these firestone tires have worn bald at 18000 miles. Accelerator has no response when a quick stop and go transition is applied.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

On PA 81 hit a bump in the road at 65 mph. Thought I had a flat tire but was not the case. After looking on the web "you tube" and asking people I found that I had had a death wobble. This was very scary and the kids in the back though we were going to crash as did I. This death wobble should be looked at and fixed before someone gets into a crash.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

I had taken my truck to get it serviced because the steering felt off and when I would go to stop it sounded like metal shaking. When I got to the dealership they said the left tie rod was cracked and the steering linkage was just hanging there about to fall off. There had been a recall on it before I had purchased the truck so I called Chrysler group and they informed me that it was deemed that the truck didn't have the "specific recalled" part. So I had to pay out of pocket around $3,000 to fix a problem that there was a recall on. The exact same problem listed in the recall, "because the left tie rod ball stud may fracture. " is exactly what happened to mine. I was told by Chrysler group that since my truck had been checked for the specific part by the previous owner and it wasn't part of the recall they wouldn't cover it. They did say to keep all my reciepts in case there is a future recall on that specific part.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

During normal driving when turning or changing lanes and trying to accelerate rapidly to merge into moving traffic, the truck will stop responding via accelerator completely. The traction control is on, but not active during this effect. Basically anytime I accelerate rapidly from a stop the truck does not respond and leaves me dead in the water.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

Driving on the turnpike and had accelerated to speed between 65 and 70 mph when right front tire went across seam in concrete roadway. Was not a big bump have passed over it since and before in car and never felt it. Suddendly truck went into an uncontrollable "wobble" very severe with my gearshift moving from side to side as if going to fly off. I had to brake suddenly almost causing a rearend collision and I took up two lanes getting it under controll also nearly having a wreck! this happens often at speeds near the same. I either have to keep it below 50 but lately the speed level is beginning to drop and I can experience the problem at lower speeds! it is dangerous. I dare not allow my wife to drive the vehicle. Also have a problem every time it rains I get leaking from my cab clearance lights.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

11/21/2013 5:00pm while leaving lake castaic, I noticed abnormal excessive play in the steering of my truck. I was towing my boat and I attributed this to possibly being tired after a long day on the lake. I pulled over at calgrove exit off the I 5 to visually inspect my tires and anything noticeably wrong with my truck. Everything checked out ok, so I reduced my speed and took precaution. Just prior to bandini exit (s) 710 we heard a loud bang and without warning my truck veered into traffic. The wheels were locked when attempting to turn to the right and the wheel would turn freely to the left, without turning the wheels. I happen to be a very strong individual and it took every ounce of strength to maintain stability and avoid an accident. A person with less strength, would have never been able to control my vehicle. Total loss of control of a full size truck, while towing a boat on the 710 freeway is a terrifying experience. With a stroke of luck and a blessing, I was able to maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder and safely exit the freeway. I have since been informed by cerritos Dodge , service advisor daniel moreno that that the steering box broke resulting in total loss of control. I contacted Chrysler and they informed me that they are not responsible and will offer no assistance with repairing my vehicle. I was told the repairs would cost $1,689. 00 and I would have to pay this amount and then contest Chrysler for reimbursement. I had my truck towed out of cerritos Dodge and currently sits in my grandmother's driveway.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

I have a 2008 Dodge durango and I had the same problem when it hit a bump you almost lose control and I did not think it should do that. I was on my way to the store when it happen and the car will almost jump into another lane this have to be some kind of defect on this car.
