Dodge Ram Van owners have reported 2 problems related to brake antilock control unit/module (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The problem I have had is that the abs controls and valves are mounted under the battery and acid has eaten the brake lines and abs valves. Luckily it failed in the parking lot and not on the road my 16 year old daughter was driving with my wife at the time of the failure. This could have been a deadly scenario!.

The abs warning light and the brake warning light were illuminated. Scan tool data showed codes for"abs pump stalled" were stored and active. Replacement of the abs module and the abs ehcu were required to repair the vehicle. Verizon has had many underhood fires in this model van which originated in the abs module area. Verizon feels that this is an unsafe condition which warrants further investigation and repair by daimlerchrysler.
