1 Defogger problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram Van

Failure Date: 11/05/2006

Windows in 2003 Dodge Ram Van fog up and frost in cold temperatures. The faster I go, the more it frosts up. We have to use an ice scraper on the inside, which is a safety concern. When I park the van for a few minutes, it defrosts. Chrysler says that it is a common problem and there is nothing that they can do for it. Air is leaking from somewhere in the van.

2 Defogger problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram Van

Failure Date: 02/26/2005

In cold weather all windows in the van freeze up. I have to turn the defrost blower to high just to see out the front of the windshield. To turn either left or right I have to lower the driver and passenger windows to see if there is oncoming cars. Going down the interstate I am not able to see out the side view mirrors. The only way to see a little is to use my ice scraper on the inside of the van. Having four small children in the van I see this as a major safety concern. I have sent it to the Dodge dealer and they told me there is nothing that can be done. They have even said they have contacted Chrysler about the problem.

3 Defogger problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram Van

Failure Date: 01/03/2005

Windows fog over dangerously, obstructing vision. Dealer reports that air blend door of heater/defroster is rusted solid preventing the admission of fresh air to the cabin, and thus the defrosters. According to the dealer the door is rusted solid in the recirculate position. I suppose this could result in excess carbon monoxide buildup as well as obstructed vision.

4 Defogger problem of the 2001 Dodge Ram Van

Failure Date: 12/20/2004

Vehicle doesn't defrost. All windows steam up and then ice up. Including front window leaving almost zero visibility. Took to lake Dodge, in (Feb. 2004) and was told it was the recirculation doors rs that were sticking and needed to be lubed up. Seemed to help until Dec. 2004. Windows steamed up and iced up again. Was told by lake Dodge, in that this is a maintenance issue we should take care of. Why should I have to take my entire dash apart to reach these recirculation doors to lube them up every year. First of all, I don't even know what they look like and how to lube them let alone take my entire dash apart without breaking anything! called chrylser and jennifer said she would have so lake Dodge take care of it this time. This is a very serious issue! I have had quite a few close calls. My children and I may not be so lucky the next time!.

5 Defogger problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram Van

Failure Date: 12/01/2004

The driver and passenger side windows fog up and ice over while driving in freezing temperatures. Typically the front windshield also fogs over on the corners forming an oval that is fog free. Turning the vent system to full defrost does very little to remove the fog and frost. I have had to purchase fans to assist in keeping my windows clear. This condition prevents me from being able to use my side mirrors as well as seeing if there is on comming traffic when attempting to turn, typically I have to open the window or even the door if the frost is so bad that the window will not roll down (such as when driving for a couple of hour. ). I have taken the vehicle to the dealer to look at and they had no solution, they even contaced the manufacturer who basically said that's "normal". I have seen at least two other Dodge Ram Van's that have had the same problem.

6 Defogger problem of the 2001 Dodge Ram Van

Failure Date: 01/14/2004

Vehicle doesn't defrost. Windows steam up and ice up, creating zero visibilit out all of the side windows and wraps around the front windows. . This was brought in to south oak Dodge, in illinois while still under factory warranty, they deodorized the evaporator coil and said I was fixed. Went back a week later with same problem and I was told there is nothing they could do. Called Chrysler and sandy said this is retarded" and she called the dealer, only to tell me, sorry we can't help you. I cant see out my windows. You cant back a van up without mirrors. This is going to result in an accident if this isn't fixed. Very very dangerous.
