2004 Dodge Sprinter - the braking system stiffens up (power brake) if I push the pedal hard especially when I back up the vehicle. It's like the booster has frozen solid and the brake pedal can't travel all the way down. If I let the vehicle sit for a while (1 hr) it will get back to normal. This is a repeat incident and started in the first year but I did not pay too much attention since I did not understand what happened and the problem disappeared for a while. But lately is reappearing more frequently. No accident yet. Nothing has been done to correct the failure. The vehicle is out of warranty by now 66,000 miles. I wonder if there are more people experiencing the same.
Since purchasing the vehicle there has been a continuous grinding and vibration with the brakes, which has imperfectly the vehicle's performance. Consumer took vehicle to dealer for service, and the brake pads were replaced twice. However, problem recurred. Replaced 4 rotors in April 2005 and problem still there. When driving slow and applying the brakes there was a loud grinding noise coming from brakes. While driving on the highway and braking vibrations were felt followed by grinding of brakes.
