T21 recall for emissions system not listed on your site.
Vehicle was recalled for an emission control devise issue. I phoned the Dodge dealer where I had my van serviced a few times to schedule the recall work. The service manager said they no longer service the 2006 Dodge/mercedes Sprinters. I went ahead and had my vehicle smog tested. It passed. I mailed my registration and payment. This is not a safety issue. My vehicle passed the strict CA smog requirements. There is no reason to recall my van or hold up my registration as an "incomplete renewal".
I have two recalls that needs to be done by a Dodge dealer which I tried two years ago with no success, the first one is brake light recall none of the Dodge dealers in my area up to 50 miles radius were able to fix the recall. Now I am trying to register my vehicle with dmv and I was told about the proof of correction that I need to provide for an emission recall. I called multiple Dodge dealers with no success to have it worked on plus I was suggested to call Mercedes Benz since it is a mercedes engineered vehicle and since its a Dodge they won't do the recall. Now I am stuck with a vehicle I can get fixed and registered. The vehicle is my work vehicle and I can't do any work/income because it can't be registered. Please advice.
I did the t21 recall update to the pcm and have had check engine light on, then it died and had it towed to the greatest Sprinter mechanics in my area. This was after the dealership cleared codes the first time my check engine light came on. Towing from insurance made me pay the difference in mileage from the dealership. Had t21 recall finished June 22, 2018, and again today after picking my van up from my trusted mechanics Thursday( who only work on Sprinters and could not find the issue) and again check engine light comes on. I have had no issues with my van until this stupid update. . I will never trust your recalls ever again. From what I am reading, you guys don't care of the cost and burden it puts on us who have complications after this pcm update. So, when me and my quadriplegic son get stuck somewhere, are you going to help us? pathetic company and stupid recall. Nothing like driving three times since the update to take my time out of my day, stress about not having an accessible vehicle for our use, and everybody shrugging their shoulders. Yes, simply accelerating from a stop light must be really hard on my engine with only 124k miles. ! what are you going to do to help those of us with manufacturing vins up to July of 2004? you are obviously thinking all encompassing pcm updates are needed but how about you think about the difference in models from within the year. Or is that too much thinking from your own brain and the computer didn't tell you what to do?.
2006 Dodge Sprinter. Consumer writes in regards to emissions safety recall.
I used your online VIN checker to see if my car has a recall and it said no recalls, and request invalid but I know I entered the correct VIN and you gave me my vehicle year and model information.
Copy of text message to k and m Dodge in grand rapids, mi who currently has my RV :mike blattner and missy willman, I need an appt to discuss my Dodge Sprinter chassis RV that was towed 02/21/18 in there because it would not shift out of park. Nick with service said a brake switch and the battery were needed and I authorized that work, and it was completed. Then nick contacted me saying it would not shift out of park and that a shifter assembly and an ambient air sensor replacement were now required to get the RV working. The shifting problem is why it was originally towed in. I am feeling that the focus of my concerns were unaddressed initially by the service dept. I spoke with the previous owner and was told the battery was not even three yrs old, yet nick said that the battery they took out was no longer there, that two days after it was taken out, it was picked up to be recycled. Was the battery still under warranty? was the brake switch replacement necessary, since it did not take care of the shifting problem after the service technician replaced it? I was told by a mechanic to make a complaint with NHTSA as this was a common problem he encountered with the Dodge Sprinter 3500. Nhtsa agent, beau, gave me an odi complaint #: 11078745, then recommended I log a complaint with fca north America, which I did, and was given a case # 33667091. I am not happy. I need to meet with your k and m management team to address my concerns.
Sprinter in loosing power when its going to even little hill, after that works fine. Chk with shop trans ok. Other situation is ac vents giving only cold air from top vents and side vents giving full heat like over hot.
This vehicle was purchased without electric locks but the van doesn't have a way of unlocking/locking the two front door from the interior. Meaning if the passenger wanted to unlock/lock his door he couldn't. The only way of locking the door is from outside with the key. I have read NHTSA door lock regulations and it said that all doors must be able to be locked/unlocked from the interior. Was this rule in effect in 2006 when this vehicle was produced? I would like to have the manufacture fix this problem if the van was not safety compliance when it was produced.
Recalled tire, bf goodrich commercial t/a lt245/75r16, delaminated while I was driving 60 mph on a good sufaced, well maintained road. Luckily I maintained control and stopped on a wide paved shoulder. The dot number was be11jd115111. I was never informed in any manner of this recall from either the tire manufacturer or my local dealer. Both could have easily informed me, but did not. Why? my name, address, and phone number along with the dot number was on file with my local dealer. I checked with the owner of the business and was told he was not informed by bf goodrich. He did see the recall notice in a tire magazine but did not check his computer files as he did receive notice from bf goodrich. Had he received a recall notice, he would have checked his computer files. The known tire failure could have caused my families death or serious injury. It did cause many thousands of dollars in damages to my vehicle. I would like to know why I was not informed. There certainly was negligence on the part of bf goodrich. There needs to be more diligence in pursuing owners of recalled tires or a better system put into place.
We lost mos of our power while driving home from a trip. It felt like the transmission was completely slipping. We pulled over multiple times when it wouldn't auto shift and turned it off for awhile each time. Fortunately, we were able to limp home. We are suspecting that is is the turbo resonator. We know that there have been many complaints about this faulty part.
My 2007 Dodge Sprinter suffers from the same water leak from the roof ac seal. The Mercedes Benz built Dodge Sprinter has a known problem and mb and Dodge shuffle me back and forth to each other. Many owners have paid for multiple dealer repairs only to have the leak return. A class action suit has been successful against mb, but they will not extend the repairs to Dodged badged models. Dodge refers me to mb. This is dangerous problem because a waterfall leak pouring into your van can cause a driver to loose concentration and drift into another lane. The van's roof ac takes on water while parked or in motion and can dump several cups of water while the van is in motion.
