When the vehicle is in "eco" mode, and an attempt is made to rapidly accelerate in an emergency situation, pressing the accelerator pedal to the floor results in a significant delay before * engine response is detected, far beyond what is reasonable for a normal gasoline powered vehicle. In several situations, I was in heavy traffic; traffic in the lane in which I was travelling was relatively slow. I attempted to change lanes into an adjacent lane in which traffic was moving much faster. When traffic allowed, I merged into the faster lane, and pressed the accelerator pedal to the floor. Prior to pressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle was moving approximately 20 mph. Nothing happened for several seconds, and then the vehicle suddenly accelerated. During the period of non-response, traffic in the faster lane caught up to my vehicle. I am able to reproduce the issue 100%. The dealer's response is that "it's normal" (typical service response) and there was no attempt to investigate. I have driven several identical make/model vehicles belonging to friends, and one dealer vehicle (test drive) and they all exhibit the same issue. There are no warning lamps, errors, codes, or any indication that any system is faulty. The high latency in the throttle control system is clearly an ecu programming issue, and it increases the risk of collision. I have only observed this issue in models of this vehicle with an automatic transmission. I do own an identical model of this vehicle with a manual transmission, and this issue is not present.
Crain Ford in jacksonville arkansas (72076) sold me this vehicle while it was under a national stop-sale with an active recall and expected me to make payments on the loan while they held the vehicle for several months.
I am sending this to anonymously report a critical compliance issue at stivers Ford in birmingham, alabama. They are actively selling brand-new vehicles with active safety recalls. Dealership employees have openly admitted to taking brand-new, never-titled vehicles and delivering them to end consumers. They are doing this even though recall 26s09 is still active and it has absolutely no remedy available right now. This is a huge safety problem. The proof: • stock b9380, VIN [xxx] • stock b9259, VIN [xxx] these two units are just the tip of the iceberg. I am confident that a deeper look will uncover many more cases across all of their dealerships. We need to look into this and make sure they stop delivering unsafe vehicles immediately. Vehicle was parked in driveway and put into park. After getting out of vehicle and walking into house we noticed the car started to roll forward and by the time we could react the car was picking up speed and rolled into a tree at the end of our driveway. A few days prior while driving 40 mph near our house the car inadvertently went into neutral without notice and without switching the gear shifter and we had to put the shifter back into drive while moving.
When I purchased my vehicle I noticed the round rod that contains the backup camera, which is mounted on the spare tire bracket to be all scratched and scruffed up. The dealership (hawk Ford, carol stream) agreed to replace this. Their are scratches inside where the camera sits around the threading and the rod it self is all banged up. I showed the dealer ship this and they replaced the mounting bracket, not the rod so when I got my car back I contacted them right away and sent before and after pictures. Manager went into lot and said all of the other ones he checked had the same issue. He was going to contact Ford to see if they were aware and how to go about this concern affecting my vehicle and all others on their lot. It should be new with no physical defects, but it appears used. When you buy a new car, you expect everything to be new and look new but this does not.
Child safety locks on back left door do not lock allowing back seat passengers to open door freely and endangering everyone in vehicle.
Abs light going off when parked in reverse on an inclined hill with the left side of vehicle on a higher level than right. Pre collision showing as unavailable as well as service advanctrac and park brake limited function service required all displayed on odometer screen.
