On 03/31/25 at approx. 12:45 am our 2022 Ford wild trak was engulfed in fire while parked on our driveway. There were no occupants, and it had last been operated on 3/30/25 at approximately 1030 pm. During its last operation there was nothing abnormal to indicate the potential of a engine fire (no warning lights, messages, unusual smell or odors, performance issues, smoke, or fire). Upon observing the Ford Bronco wild trak for the first time the engine compartment was fully engulfed, and it was clear the fire had started in the engine compartment. The flames from the Ford Bronco wild trak eventually spread to a second vehicle destroying it down to the frame and causing enough damage to a third vehicle rendering it a total loss. All three vehicles were within 4 feet of our residence and the flames were hot enough it melted the garage door window frames. The Ford Bronco wild trak is frequently parked in our garage, and it been we would have lost our home and the lives of all four family member would have been put at risk. Researching Ford Bronco wild trak engine fires, we discovered that Ford Bronco sports and Ford escapes both have recalls due to faulty fuel injectors resulting in engine fires. The fuel injectors in Ford Bronco wild trak’s are similar to the fuel injectors in both the Ford Bronco sports and escapes. Due to the similarity between the Ford Bronco sports and escapes with the wild trak fuel injectors we are asking for the ntsba to initiate an investigation into Ford Bronco wild trak engine fires. The Ford Bronco wild trak can be retained for inspection if requested quickly as it is scheduled to be picked up by our insurance company and then disposed.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v455000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the vehicle was driving roughly, and it stalled several times. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and the low-pressure fuel pump was replaced, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 5,000.
Ford has issued a recall (24s55) stating the intake valves on the Ford Bronco with engine2. 7l and 3. 0l will harden and crack or break and loss of power. I had the same issue in my 2021 Ford Bronco with the 2. 3l engine while I was driving in the highway I got a check engine light then it started cutting out horribly so I slowed down to pull off the road through a metal gate that was open with a cattle guard and the engine died as I was turning in and loss power steering trying to turn the wheel back in time I didn’t and ended up side swiping the pole and knocking off my side mirror and damaging my front quarter panel along with the front door. No damage to the solid metal pole. But I took my vehicle to the local Ford dealership to see what the issue was and at the time they should have gotten the recall and at least put two and two together and let Ford know about the issue in the 2. 3l also but they didn’t mention anything about the valve being broken but said it had no compression and the spark plug diode was broke off. I’ve never seen a diode and the diodes ground hook break off on its own it’s always been broken off from being hit by something but they said it needed a whole new engine for $13,000 so I took it to another mechanic since that’s always that dealerships go to answer for everything is it needs a new engine so the new mechanic did the same stuff and also used a bore scope but instead of just saying the cylinder was bad he seen the hole in the valve and said it just needs a new head with new valves so since I needed my ride to be able to get to work and for half the price they tore it down and sure enough the valve was cracked with a hole just as they said and just like the recall (24s55) but had that dealership paid attention to safety alerts and ran the issue up with Ford and let them know the same issue had happened in the Bronco with the 2. 3l engines also I wouldn’t be writing this right now. I’d be putting a 5 star review on their page not a 1.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that after parking and turning off the vehicle, the "steering assist fault, service required" message displayed. The message disappeared after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred while pressing the auto start/stop button without depressing the brake pedal. The engine revved abnormally loud while the vehicle was parked. The messages "steering assist fault, service required", "pre-collision assist not available," and "service advancetrac" were displayed. The abs and battery warning lights were illuminated. The engine then inadvertently turned off, and the radio switched on and off. Roadside assistance arrived on scene and the contact stated that when the tow truck driver started the vehicle, the messages and warning lights were no longer illuminated or displayed. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure for the second time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 9,929.

We were returning home from a trip. We pulled into a gas station to get gas. As we pulled up to the gas pump, we smelled smoke and then saw smoke and fire. We immediately turned the Bronco off and jumped out. Shortly after, the whole engine compartment area was on fire. Luckily, there was a tow truck in the parking lot and was able to drag it away from the gas pumps. I had gotten an oil change prior to our trip. There were no warning signals, lights, or indication of temperature or oil problems. I had intermittently smelled gas while driving during our trip, but my wife said she did not smell gas on the passenger side.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that the front passenger's side seat frame bolt had detached within a week of purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealer, where the bolt was reinstalled and tightened. Additionally, while driving 5-8 mph in 4wd low mode, the vehicle made a beeping sound and stalled. The contact stated that the engine was chugging. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact had stopped driving the vehicle in 4wd low mode. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, while reversing, the rearview camera displayed a black or blue screen intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v312000 (back over prevention), 25v455000 (fuel system, gasoline), and 25v721000 (seats); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My vehicle has the 2. 7l v6 ecoboost engine. This engine apparently has a design defect that results in repeated cam phaser failure. My engine recently had cam phaser failure and I had them replaced. A week later I was driving at speed on a highway when my engine completely died. I had to pull to the side of the road and could not restart my engine. I ended up being towed to a dealership and am awaiting diagnosis.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 24v635000 (engine and engine cooling) and 25v025000 (suspension); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that there was hydraulic fluid leaking from the vehicle near the rear struts. While driving approximately 35-45 mph, one fluid reservoir on the driver’s side rear strut detached from the vehicle. The contact continued to drive to an independent mechanic. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that both rear struts were defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. Additionally, the parts were on backorder. The vehicle was towed to another mechanic who replaced the struts. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to request a reimbursement. The failure mileage was 40,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
We installed new tires and wheels on our vehicle and it immediately started having engine problems and the check engine light comes on. We took it to the dealer and after several days back and forth Ford told the deal that it's a known problem with the 2. 3l version of the Ford Bronco however they had no fix and no timeline to fix the problem. This creates a safety hazard as the engine program can't be updated and could cause damage to the engine and cause it to fail. The dealer then stated that they could not return the vehicle to us with the new tires and wheels we purchased and we had to put our old tires and wheels on. We counted on the old tires for a spare since we already blew one tire out. So in addition to a safety hazard we are currently out $2,500 we spent on new tires and wheels, and now have to purchase another tire of the exact same original size to have a spare, costing us another $300.
When driving on the highway and pressing down on the gas pedal, the Bronco immediately stalled without warning. The vehicle gradually slowed down and I was unable to do anything except turn the wheel. I was lucky that there was a shoulder to pull over to. (this time of year there are tons of spots on the highway that there isn't a shoulder to pull over to and could have posed a huge safety issue!) even with the shoulder, large vehicles were driving by at speeds of 80mph with just a few feet of clearance. I was unable to start the vehicle after multiple attempts. Electrical power to the vehicle still worked. I had to call a tow truck and tow us the remaining way to our destination. After several hours (roughly 3 hours) the vehicle was able to start again. I drove to the dealership to have them look at it. They could only tell me that it was a low fuel pressure incident and could not replicate it. They said could just be "bad gas". This same exact incident -vehicle stalling while driving and pressing on the gas pedal, without any warning, has happened two additional times since this major incident. I took it to another dealer to have it looked at again and they said almost the exact same thing. System shows a low fuel pressure event but that they can't replicate it. I believe it could be tied to the NHTSA action number pe24019 that is currently under investigation. This is an extremely dangerous issue and wildly unpredictable that could leave me stranded or hit on the side of the road at anytime. Additionally, it's frustrating to see the possible issue under investigation for recall since July 2024 (before any of my issues) and have neither of the two dealerships tell me this information after I specifically asked if there had been any similar incidents reported. I had to do my own research to find this. Please help! please recall!.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the spark plugs had failed to remain connected. The spark plugs were reconnected. The next day the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the same failure. The spark plugs were replaced. The failure reoccurred and the engine sounded as if the engine was sputtering while starting the vehicle for several minutes. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed as spark plug failure and that the engine was misfiring. There were no dtc codes retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Bronco lost power, crank no start, 24 miles from a maintained road. Left us stranded and required 5 jeeps to recover vehicle to pavement before having it towed to dealer 172 miles away. Extremely dangerous situation to lose power descending a steep hill and leaving vehicle stranded miles off road in 100+ degree weather. Low fuel pressure dtc captured, possible loss of fuel pump, several similar reports on [xxx] . Currently at dealership for diag and warranty work. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that a bent valve stem needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.
Vehicle dash getting frozen and engine stalling making unsafe to drive because you don’t know the speed the you are traveling, you have to park, the vehicle and is taking time to get back on and problem keep happening, I have been in Ford dealership and not solution has been made also have file a complaint on Ford cxh02468902 and not response at all not calls or emails they just avoiding look at the issue I’m not the first person with the same issue, this vehicle is unsafe to drive on any highway or roadway I will attach the onformation where Ford is saying the vehicle has issue but they don’t have the fix yet it should be taking out the market from Ford.
Week and half ago engine started idling real rough, sputtering, then drove about 100 yds. Engine conked out in middle of intersection and would not restart. Was dangerous because had 3 grandchildren in back seat. Because engine wouldn’t start I had trouble trying to get it in neutral to push vehicle to side of road. Had to walk grand kids back to their house. Got a aaa tow approximately 35 miles to Ford dealer where purchased. There were no warning messages prior to engine failure except the rough idle and sputtering vehicle was diagnosed as a fuel pump failure, but vehicle is still at dealership over 10 days awaiting parts.
When driving or breaking at slower speeds, the car feels as if the transmission is “slipping” and the car jerks forward. The same thing happens when braking the car.
My 2023 Bronco with 6k miles died without any warning back in late January 2024. Ford service dept said it was a failed catalytic converter. After it was in the shop for a 1. 5 months, waiting on the back ordered part, we picked up our truck around March 10. Fast forward to today, truck has 7k miles. We were southbound on the interstate in bumper to bumper traffic heading to disney world when the truck’s engine died, yet again. Luckily we were not traveling typical interstate speed and we safely maneuvered the vehicle to the side of the road and contacted Ford roadside assistance and a tow truck was quickly dispatched. The truck is currently sitting at a Ford dealership on a Sunday, 485 miles from home and a lot of money tied up in our vacation plans. Just thankful nobody was hurt, but waiting for this to happen a third time just to file a lemon law is reckless to customers and everyone else on the road, for that matter.
While driving the vehicle began to misfire and became unsafe to drive. It was towed to the local dealer where error codes confirmed that cylinder 4 had misfired. Ford was unable to duplicate the issue nor where they able to find any issues that would have caused the misfire after trouble shooting.
2. 7 engine failure while accelerating on to a hwy. Loss of acceleration and power. I was unable to get fully off the road. Engine was replaced under warranty only 3,636 miles on car. No warning lights prior to this failure. Once engine failed and started smoking the check engine light came on.
There is a major lag in the time from when you hit the pedal to when you start accelerating, almost like a pause. Hesitation, long lag or dead spot in accelerating. Failed to accelerate from a stop at least 3 times.
I was driving uphill in a neighborhood going about 15 mph when my Bronco suddenly lost power. I was not able to restart and had to manually restart the truck using the fob to ignition method. It started back up, but a terrible sulfur smell was coming from the vehicle. I brought it into our nearest Ford dealership and they claimed there was nothing they could do because no code was reported from the truck. I continued to drive it for another day and the check engine light came on. My Ford pass relayed a message claiming that the issue was the catalytic converter. I took it to my Ford dealership who claims this could take months to fix because the parts are on back order. My 2023 Ford Bronco, 2. 7 liter v6 had less than 6k miles.
Four hours into a drive today, going down a fairly steep hill @ ~30mph into a 4 point intersection my Bronco lost all power, brakes and steering. I mean it had nothing. We barely made it thru the intersection because the cars coming directly at us slammed brakes. I had no control and went off the road into someone’s yard, barely missing their fence. It was the scariest thing we’ve ever encountered. My son in the back screaming stop at the top of his lungs is burned in my brain. What makes all of this worse is that Ford just had it in the shop for 3 days because the week before when they had my Bronco in the shop for yearly inspection/oil change and under their care it had the first symptoms of this issue. I received an app notice of a battery failure and at their request because of this new issue they wanted my car for a “longer look” the following week. Today was first time driving it since they handed it back to me (I use the valet service that picks up and drops it back to me). Ford could come back and say they will give us a new car and there’s no way I can ever convince my wife to get back in this car. She was absolutely freaked out as the cars coming towards us would have drilled her door. It took Ford 4 hours to come 17 miles to tow us (probably a contractor) to the local Ford dealer that was closed by the time it arrived. We had to uber to enterprise and then drive the rental home four hours.
Battery charge, over heated, failed power train, and failed 4x4 happened all within seconds of each other. We were on a 2 lane hwy where there was very little room to pull off the main road. It was christmas eve and we were about 60 miles from home. We had to pay around $400 dollars to have it towed home and it was freezing outside while we waited.
The vehicle experienced recurring electrical system failures beginning in December 2023. The vehicle intermittently would not start and on several occasions lost power unexpectedly. The vehicle was taken multiple times to an authorized Ford dealership for diagnosis while still under the manufacturer warranty. The dealership repeatedly reported that no issue could be identified despite the recurring electrical malfunction. The vehicle battery was replaced more than once within three years, however the underlying electrical issue persisted. In August 2025 the dealership instructed that the vehicle remain at the service center for extended diagnosis. The vehicle remained at the dealership for more than 40 consecutive days before being returned on October 8, 2025. Because the vehicle intermittently fails to start and has experienced electrical system malfunction, this creates a potential safety risk if the vehicle stalls or loses power while operating in traffic. Additionally, the vehicle currently has two outstanding manufacturer safety recalls that remain unresolved after nearly three years of ownership. This complaint is being submitted because the defect remains unresolved despite multiple repair attempts while the vehicle was under the manufacturer warranty.
Engine service light came on indicating reduced power/power failure. Called Ford dealership and they said to bring it in ASAP. After diagnosis the Ford dealership said there was a problem with the wastegate. The dealership has no eta on when the part will be available.
Not exactly sure how it started to happen. Meaning there was a powertrain malfunction so my Ford computer tells me, which caused the vehicle to not restart and in addition to it not restarting, the vehicle also didn't have brakes, so it simply rolled backwards without any control until I hit a tree to stop me. On the way down, I also hit the bumper and damaged it and also hit the driver's side mirror on a rock on the way down.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost motive power and the accelerator pedal became inoperable. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway. The contact was not able to restart the vehicle. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty fuel pump inside the fuel tank and a faulty fuel module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the vehicle was not under recall. The contact was advised to call NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 16,900.
Driving down the road on 10/31/23, all of a sudden the entire vehicle started to shake, then the check engine light came on, then the vehicle started shaking even worse- losing power and sputtering. Pulled over and had it towed to dealer- buckhannon wv- they checked the compression and found nothing. I am still waiting for someone to look at the vehicle's engine to determine the issue- I have not even owned this Bronco for 3 months when this happened. It only has 24000 miles on it. It left me stranded along the highway- my friend had to come and pick me up. I currently have no vehicle to get back and forth to work. Its sad that you pay such for a vehicle so you don't have to worry about getting back and forth and now it looks like I will be waiting for months- no Bronco and no one seems to be concerned.
My Bronco started having issues randomly when it went into limp mode one day. I brought it in to get fixed and it continued to happen. Ultimately, they told me that it needed a brand new engine.
Good day! Bronco 2021 (VIN 1fmee5dp4mla68250) - my engine suddenly broken while driving - I heard some unusual clicks-knocks from the engine side, check engine lamp apperared. I stopped vehicle, look under the hood and saw puddle of oil under the engine (car mileage about 7000 miles). Service man said that I should buy a new engine - old one broken with no chance of repair. . . How can you help me? thanks.
2022 Ford Bronco loss power while driving moderate speed (35 - 55 mph) and would not immediately restart after the first attempt. After finally restarting it would continue to stall. The car was towed to the dealership where after four weeks of investigating they found the catalytic converter to be melted. The car has now been sitting at the dealership for 7 weeks with an "indefinite lead time" on replacement parts. My Bronco only has 14,000 miles on it and no determination on what caused the catalytic converter to melt.
Multiple lights on dash turned on also check engine light' loss of power and jerking of vehicle.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the contact had started to brake and noticed that the brake pedal had been depressed all the way to the floorboard and all the lights had flashed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle the whole dashboard had shook uncontrollably. Several warning lights was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty cam phaser. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that he VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
Once the vehicle hit around 3000 miles it started making a loud clicking noise while the vehicle was running parked or driving . The noise continued to get louder. When I called new brighton Ford where I purchased the vehicle brand new on 4/25/23 at the end of June I was told to make a service appt. The soonest they could see the vehicle was 4 weeks later. Because of the continued noise I called on about July 12 2023 they agreed they would look at it upon looking at the vehicle. It was found that the engine was in engine failure. They kept the vehicle for six weeks and had to replace to the engine.
Lost power while in drive. Car became unresponsive. No response to accelerator inputs. Engine light flashes and request to stop car, turn off, and restart. No power to get out of traffic, safely rolled of highway.
