The tow bar bent resulting in partially detaching one of the baseplates from the vehicle and damaging the bumper, intercooler, and splash shield. The bar only lasted 5 months and 5,650. 6 miles of use. I asked blue ox to refund the money I spent on the two items and the money to fix my vehicle. They denied the claim asserting the bolts fell out - the bolts were all returned to them as part of their investigative process. If they had fallen out, I would no longer have had them in my possession to return as this failure occurred on I-95 somewhere between FL and SC.
Base plate wield on driver side failed allowing one side of the tow bar to disconnect from the tow vehicle and it is available for inspection. The tow vehicle was allowed to move into the adjacent lane and if there was a vehicle there it would have cause an accident luckily we had pulled into a campground. The wield broke on late Friday and the dealer has not contacted me yet.
