The contact owns a 1993 Ford Bronco. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph while coasting he attempted to accelerate and the vehicle would not respond. The contact stated that the defect was only occurred after the vehicle was coasting. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic who determined that the transfer cases slipped out of the 4x4 gear during the incident. The contact indicated that he experienced the same defect listed in the NHTSA campaign number 93v089000 (power train) but the manufacturer did not include the vehicle in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 37,000. Update 4/7/14 va the consumer requested assistance with having Ford reimburse the $1,500 for repair of the vehicle. The consumer believes the vehicle should have been included in the recall.
