The contact owns a 2015 Ford C-max hybrid. The contact stated that while her son was driving 25 mph, the brake warning light and the traction control warning light illuminated. Additionally, while the contact's husband was driving, the driver’s side rear brake seized, and there was smoke coming from the brakes. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the passenger’s side brakes were defective, and the brake calipers were replaced. The mechanic was initially unable to unlock the seized brakes. The contact stated that while driving into the driveway, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, and it was determined that the abs module had failed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with abs module part number: mk 100 failure and that there was a bubble in the brake line. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there were no related recalls on the VIN for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,230.

I took it to the Ford dealership and they diagnosed it as having a parasitic draw from the 12 v battery when the car is shut down so when you go to get into the car if the battery is dead, they will fix it for $425 however, this problem was a recall in 2013 and my car did have a recall done to it. However, the issue is still going on therefore I feel as though the customer should not be charged. My car broke down going up the canyon and it told me to pull over safely, which I did going up the hill, but it was on an exit and it was a dangerous situation as I could not even turn on my flashers. This has been a known issue with the Ford c max since 2013 and since their software program then did not correct the problem and now they want to update the software why should the cost come from the consumer?.

Ford 2015 cmax energi with 41,000 miles. I was driving on a 2 lane highway coming to a stoplight and had to press the brakes firmly to avoid an accident at which time my 2015 cmax energi abruptly stopped w a growling noise,. The dashboard lit up like christmas. I observed the abs system/abs module failure/malfunctioned lights. 2015 c max energi was available for inspection when I brought it to the dealership and verified it was abs module that had malfunctioned. I was told by the dealership for my safety and others not to drive the car. Sawgrass Ford retained my car for repairs. Sawgrass Ford as well as family and friends stated that my safety and the safety of others were at risk because of the obvious reliability of brake failure. Brake failure could lead to death to me and anyone else on the roads/highway. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer@ sawgrass Ford sunrise florida. The vehicle and the component has been inspected by the dealership because it was repaired once the part , which took about 2 1/2 months due to parts being backorder from Ford corporation. Ford has many previous abs module recalls on several of their models, but the cmax energi isn’t due to it not being a popular car. I’ve researched through the internet and forums and found that this is a common problem for the cmax energi. I retained the damaged parts and have them enclosed w photo of damaged parts and the box that contained the new parts. Additionally, when the brakes were applied the car lurch and jerked, and additionally, there was the “smelling of electrical burning “ bright red warning lights. Aaa was called an immediately was towed to the dealership around mid November. Dealership got in touch with me November 23 and ordered the part fv672c219. At that time I was told that the part would not be available and it was on backorder. Ford corporation 800-392-3673 and confirmed b/o.
Outside brake lights stayed on after car was turned off. I see recalls on other 2015 Ford models for the same issue but mine is not on the list and I have to pay $748 for the repair.
While backing out of the driveway, the brakes failed. In an attempt to stop the car from continuing into on coming traffic, attempted to put the car in park. After moving the gearshift into park, the car continued to roll into on coming traffic. The C-max struck another another car and continued to roll until it was stopped by a small retaining wall on the opposite side of the street.

Component failure the abs system failed with only 14,500 miles on the odometer. Symptom the brake pedal became soft, allowing more brake pedal travel than normal. Taken to Ford dealer symptom described to service representative and was told after several hrs that the brakes were normal. I told them that the brake pedal was always taut and the current behavior could become a danger to others and myself. It's after I provided my own obd11 scan report ( using a bluedriver scan tool ) that indicated there is an anti-lock brake module code failure that convinced them and was told to leave the vehicle overnight. Dealer confirmed, that there is a definite problem and that it could be the brake master cylinder and brake booster. There were no warning lamps indication or lights except for the brake pedal losing pressure. The brakes did function, but the pedal almost when to the floor. Currently my Ford cmax sel hybrid has been sitting in their service center for 7 days just waiting for Ford warranty service approval and was just notified that it was okayed and I would have to wait for parts to be ordered.

Turned the car on in a parking lot and saw the check engine light was on. Had totally lost power steering and acceleration, and braking was extremely difficult. Rolled down the parking lot and was able to stop the car with the parking brake and turn it off. Turned it back on and the power steering and brakes and accelerator were back. Drove the car home and tried turning it on and off a few more times. Power steering seems to be completely gone. Check engine light is on.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford C-max energi. While parking the vehicle, the contact was unable to turn off the ignition. Also, the abs service warning indicator was illuminated. The contact stated that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v436000 (electrical system). The vehicle was taken to sawgrass Ford (located at 14501 w sunrise blvd, sunrise, FL 33323, (954) 851-9000), but they were unable to duplicate the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.
At approximately 46,000 miles I was driving on a freeway in the rain and felt the steering was a little "jerky" I thought it was the wet road condition and wind. A few minutes later an alert popped up on the dashboard saying steering failure and to pull off road safely. I wasn't far from the Ford dealership where I purchased the car. After a diagnostic was done, I was informed that is was the rack and pinion. The dealership quoted me over 3,000. 00 to replace. After consulting with my retired mechanic brother and another mechanic friend, they suggested I contact Ford. It took over 3 weeks but Ford offered to take on part of the cost. I was out of pocket $855. 00 for the repair, but was also without a car for 3 weeks. I still feel that they should have covered the entire repair. I hope this post will help generate a recall, as I've seen others who have had the same issue. I'm under the impression that if a recall is issued, I will be reimbursed for the money I paid for this repair. Everyone I've spoken to with knowledge of cars and their mechanics agree that the rack and pinion should not go out before at least 100,000. Miles.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford C-max hybrid. While the vehicle was stationary, the battery saver warning indicator turned off and the following message displayed across the instrument panel: "911 assist is disabled, contact dealer". Immediately afterwards, the shifter indicator displayed on the instrument panel. The contact turned the key in the ignition, but the motor did not indicate that it was ready to drive until approximately one minute later. The contact placed the shifter into reverse and attempted to reverse, but a sudden loss of power steering occurred. The contact placed the vehicle in the drive gear and depressed the accelerator pedal in an attempt to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle accelerated beyond 35 mph. The contact attempted to stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal, but the vehicle would not stop. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to bob moore Ford (8948 s I-35 service rd, oklahoma city, oklahoma 73159) where it was diagnosed that the inner cell of the battery was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.
My 2016 Ford C-max with 10000 miles has brake issues. . . According to the dealer the brakes are rusted and need replaced for $1000. 00. Seriously, a vehicle with 10000 miles has bad brakes and not covered by the Ford warranty. . . . . I hope nothing happens while my wife is driving the car as she does not feel safe. . . . .
Unintended acceleration while parking the car in our garage, the car suddenly accelerated, jumped a 7 inch step and crashed into the wall. When put in reverse, the car accelerated backward with the brakes applied hard. It took about 20 feet to stop the car.
Ford certified the C-max as being tow-able 4 wheels down behind a motorhome. Their instructions state that the ignition should "off". In this state the brakes should not be active (unpowered). The problem is they sporadically become active (powered) then return to inactive for no apparent reason. With this happening there is no way to properly set a supplemental braking unit. Sometimes you are over breaking and other times not braking at all. It is very dangerous and caused me brake lockup three times on a major highway where I could not pull over. This episode destroyed a brand new set of tires. Ford is well aware of this issue but they refuse to recognize it. I even paid a Ford dealer to upgrade my firmware in the hope that would fix the issue. It did not! I also replaced my supplemental brake unit with another brand with the exact same result. I don't believe the solution is really that difficult, either the C-max brakes should be active or inactive when the ignition is off and the vehicle is in motion. Bouncing between those states is extremely dangerous.
Today, I was parked on the side of the road in a residential area with the engine turned off. I checked my phone, answered a text, and then started the car. As soon as I started the car, the car rolled backward - even when I had my foot completely pressed very hard on the brake pedal (I panicked because having my foot on the brake did not prevent me from rolling backward). The car did not stop rolling backward until I hit the cement barrier on the curb, because it prevented me from continuing to roll backward. I was then able to put the car in drive and then I drove off. This is the first time that it has happened. The street I was on was slightly at an incline - it was not a steep hill but there was a slight incline.
Anytime I break or let off the gas and there is a bump or a steel plate in the road my car slides. This has been happening or 3 years now. When it rains and ita wet outside its even worse. I have brand new tires on and it still happens.
Attempting to slow down the car accelerated instead causing another vehicle to be struck. Ended up in a neighbors front yard 2 feet away from brick wall before it finally came to a halt. Was able to drive cmax home without further incident and intended to take car in for service on 1/21/2015. On 1/20/2015 unable to unlock with remote. Then unable to get car started and had to be towed in.
While driving on the highway, a warning light came on instructing me to pull over to the side of the road and stop. When I did pulled over, I set the gearshift in "park" mode, and turned off the car. I restarted the car and didn't have any more problems that day. Subsequently, I noticed that whild driving down the road the engine ( both electric and gasoline) shut off suddenly and I lost all power momentarily, then turned on as if nothing was wrong. The car has been doing this more and more frequently lately and I discovered that when I position the gearshift just past the drive mode, the problem stops. In other words, when the gear shift is set just past park, the car never loses power. When I took the car in for repair in January 2015, I was told that the gearshift was not covered by the warranty and furthermore the part is not available until the beginning of March (it's on backorder).
