In the course of routine maintenance, it has been brought to my attention that stock Ford lug nuts have "swelled" and can not be removed using normal methods, making on the road tire replacement impossible. Ford states this is a known issue with defective Ford lug nuts.

Ford dealer service recommends I replace lug nuts. I have 35th miles. That they are expanding and Ford cannot assure they or other repair shops will be able to remove lug nuts for repairs or replacements such as brakes, tires, etc. I read many complaints online about this problem, that the lug nut can break causing other lug nuts to break under pressure, that cause tire to fall off. They do not replace under warranty and do not discount parts. I call upon NHTSA to have Ford recall these affected cars for replacement lug nuts. Thank you.
I had a flat tire and I was unable to remove the lug nuts. I was on the freeway creating a hazardous condition. The lug nuts had cover on them and standard lug nuts could not remove the tire. You needed a lug nut that is 1/2 mm larger. Ridiculous!! we had to call a tow truck and take the vehicle to the Ford service center to remove the lug nut and tire, which was an unnecessary expense that Ford made money on. What a joke!.
Rear tires repeatedly wearing out. This could cause a blowout causing harm to myself and others.
Car was making "whoo-whoo" low pitched noise from rear that increased in frequency as speed of car increased. Wheel bearing right rear wheel need to be replaced at 101k miles and leaking shock for same wheel -.

My daughter drove the 2014 Ford c max to pick up my younger daughter and had a blowout with her tire on June 26, 2019. She heard the front tire popped and had to merge from the left lane to the right shoulder. The sidewall had a hole and wasn't able to fix so had to call the tow truck. This occurred on highway 4 which didn't have any road construction and she didn't run over anything. I am concerned with the integrity of the tires. The mileage is 43600 and the treads are still good. I've replaced two tires since even treads need to be paired up. Two new tires in the front and the original tires on the rear. I've kept the third tire for future use. Hearing the whole fact from my daughter am concerned of the original tires as well as the new tires since replaced with the same brand. The brand is michelin energy saver.
Consistent rolling noise heard while driving. Wheel bearings on both rear wheels needed replaced at 57,500 miles.
I keep having my back tires wear out & causes me to have a blow out, thankfully so far it hasn't caused any accidents. I have had my car lined up and they said it wasn't out of line bad enough to cause this issue. Can you help me find out what is causing this issue? it is getting very expensive buying new tires. When the tires go out is during the time I am driving it. I'm including the last date this has happened below, but it has happened 2 times in the past 6 months & a total of 4 times since I have had the car.
A grinding, whining noise developed at about 66,000 miles. Because it was a road noise and I was told by the dealership that I would soon need new tires, I replaced the tires. The noise continued and I went back to the tire dealer who inspected the car and informed me that the driver's side rear wheel bearing needed replacement. I replaced the wheel bearing and no more noise. I was told if I continued driving with that part I would have shortly lost my wheel and the car would have been out of control.
