Four problems related to hood latch have been reported for the 1996 Ford Crown Victoria. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving 55 mph hood latch snapped. Hood flew up and shattered the front windshield. Consumer managed to pull over.
Consumer states while driving 55mph that hood flew up impairing visability. Ts.
Prior to recall (97v-024) the latch on the hood released and slammed into the vehiicle's windshield while driving on highway (attorney for client jerome t. Linnen,jr). Yh.
While driving out of the yard and turning the steering wheel column, can hear a popping noise. Also, when driving on the highway and parking the hood latch popped open, and the dealer won't repair the vehicle, due to lack of any recall.
