Three problems related to frame and members have been reported for the 1997 Ford Crown Victoria. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Noticeable deterioration rust through of right front passenger side frame rail assembly forward of the shock tower and spring assembly. *2 part frame rail, outside assembly no apparent deterioration but passenger side inner assembly hidden by plastic cover has severe rust and some areas complete through.
While driving left front assembly broke off. Also, entire frame assembly collapsed. Vehicle came to a halt, and there was no braking.
The water township police department has 30 additional complaints on the same type of vehicle, and will send additional documents regarding other complaints. .
