Five problems related to fuel hoses lines/piping and fittings have been reported for the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Fuel line connection to fuel filter under car failed causing a high speed fuel leak creating a possible catastrophic fire condition.
The fuel cut off switch activated as consumer was entering a major highway causing the vehicle to stall. Nlm.
Vehicle stalls at any speed and any time. Vehicle taken to dealer 3 times. Dealer said inertia switch was defective ,and needs to be replaced.
Inertia switch keeps going off while driving over bumps , causing engine to cut off. Also,2. Front calipers stick, causing vehicle to steer to left or right.
Intertia fuel cut-off activated after rumble strips and a pothole while on interstate exit ramp. Dealer replaced front disk pads that were "mismatched" and occasionally caused loss of control during moderately hard braking. Steering wheel makes creaking noise that could/possibly be a sign that air bag circuit may not function reliably if needed.
