One problem related to tank assembly has been reported for the 1996 Ford E-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2000

Gas tank corrosion cause leak of fuel and fumes into passenger space. Although found under the mileage warranty limits, regular warranty expired 3 months earlier. After discussion with Ford and dealer, they replaced tank under "extended warranty" but charged us for labor costs. Steering problem : have had steering problems with this van since it was first purchased. Have had multiple visits to dealer to discuss problem of alignment (van constantly pulls to the right) yet dealer can find no problem and blames it on "the crown of the road". However, even in left handed lane (crown left) van still pulls to right. Even had to replace orginial tires due to wear pattern. In October 2000, front rt tie rod assembly broke, repaired by dealer, (free alignment) but van still pulls to the right.
