One problem related to axle assembly has been reported for the 1998 Ford E-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The front of the vehicle is overweight (the front steering axle is 4,000 pounds the door post legend indicates the front axle max gvm should be 3600 pounds) causing the tires to wear, the consumer replaced the tires with p235 6-ply and now the vehicle has no more tire problems, the tires are not properly sized by the manufacturer for this size and type of vehicle (michelin ltx-ms p235r75-15).
